One of the rarest and most coveted bourbons from Buffalo Trace Distillery — Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel Bourbon is a high-rye mash bill expression bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) and drawn from a single, individually selected barrel. Named after the historic Rock Hill Farm in Frankfort, Kentucky — the former estate of Albert Bacon Blanton, the pioneering distiller who inspired the single barrel category — this bourbon carries a legacy as rich as its flavor. Presented in a distinctive round decanter bottle, Rock Hill Farms is notoriously difficult to find and consistently earns its place among the most sought-after expressions in the Buffalo Trace portfolio.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Rich and inviting with caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, and a warm floral sweetness — the high-rye mash bill adding a distinctive spice character
- Palate: Full-bodied and complex with caramel, honey, toasted oak, rye spice, and dried fruit — the 100 proof delivering excellent depth and presence without harshness
- Finish: Long, warm, and deeply satisfying with lingering caramel, rye spice, and a refined oak complexity that speaks to the quality of the individual barrel
Frequently Asked Questions
Who was Albert Bacon Blanton and what is Rock Hill Farm?
Albert Bacon Blanton (1881–1959) was one of the most influential figures in bourbon history — the distillery president who pioneered the concept of single barrel bourbon. Rock Hill Farm was his personal estate in Frankfort, Kentucky, and this bourbon is a tribute to his legacy and the land he called home.
What mash bill does Rock Hill Farms use?
Rock Hill Farms is produced from Buffalo Trace's Mash Bill #2 — a high-rye recipe that delivers a spicier, more complex character. It shares this mash bill with Blanton's and Eagle Rare.
Why is Rock Hill Farms so hard to find?
Rock Hill Farms is produced in very limited quantities as a single barrel expression. Combined with Buffalo Trace's overall allocation constraints and the bourbon's strong collector following, it is one of the most consistently difficult bottles to source in the entire Buffalo Trace lineup.
What size bottle is this?
This listing is for a 750ml bottle of Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey at 100 proof / 50% ABV.
