This is a replica of the original stargate from Stargate SG-1, also known as the Alpha Gate. The gate used by SG-1 was buried by the ancient Egyptians after they overthrew the Goauld Ra. It was uncovered in 1928 and was eventually powered up at a secret facility in Cheyenne Mountain , which was home to the Stargate Program. It has nine chevrons and 39 glyphs that can be used to dial the address of thousands of inhabited planets.

The model is made of a high quality polystone, which holds the detail exceptionally well. The gate itself has a diameter of 9.25" (23.5 cm. It is an individual piece that can be slotted into the display stand, which bears the SG-1 symbol from the planet Earth.
