When we saw these Edwardian cufflinks, we knew they needed to be reimagined as a contemporary piece. At Kirsten’s Corner, we have a great love for Sighthound dogs. Owner Cindy has two Whippets who are almost always present while we work and are the unofficial mascots of Kirsten’s Corner. When we saw these Edwardian cufflinks, we knew they needed to be reimagined as a contemporary piece. The cufflinks contain the image of two Russian Wolfhounds, or Borzois, in stunning detail that accentuates the beautiful profiles of the dogs. 

The gold is finished with a matte surface, surrounded by a quatrefoil-shaped platinum border. The platinum border contains 20 Rose Cut Diamonds, beadset with milgrain work. At the tip of the dog’s nose is a larger Old Mine Cut diamond, bezel set in platinum. The bright and lively diamond brings lovely sparkle to the piece. The Old Mine Cut diamond measures 2.5 mm. 

We added a platinum chain by delicately attaching tiny jump rings into the corners of the border. We chose platinum for the chain to match the border and elevate the piece as a stunning necklace. 

The necklace weighs 7.65 grams. It is 17 1/2” in length. In total, the piece contains .10 of a carat of diamonds. Marked on the back as 18k. Circa 1910.
