The proceeds of the rosaries he makes go to the care and upkeep of the Iglesia de San Pedro y San Pablo, a 160 year old sacred and historic church that his ancestors helped build.  Charles is the mayordomo or caretaker of the church.  Charles is a valley native and has been an artist most of his life, his love of art came from his grandmother, who was a weaver.  She inspired him to continue with traditional art, such as woodworking, carving, weaving, jewelry making and he is also a skilled santero, an art form that is rarely practiced these days.
