His work reflects the prosperity and innovation of the time, showcasing intricate details and emotional depth that resonate with viewers even today.Rembrandt's Life and Artistic Evolution
Rembrandt, born in 1606 in Leiden, became one of the most celebrated painters in history. His journey from a young artist to a master of light and shadow is fascinating. This evolution is evident in "Abraham Serving the Angels," painted in 1646, where he captures a profound moment of divine hospitality.Religious Themes in 17th Century Art
Religious narratives were central to 17th-century art, reflecting the spiritual climate of the time. "Abraham Serving the Angels" illustrates the theme of hospitality, a virtue highly regarded in both Jewish and Christian traditions, emphasizing the importance of welcoming the divine.Symbolism and Meaning Behind Abraham Serving the Angels
Understanding the Biblical Narrative of Abraham and the Angels
The painting is based on a biblical story from Genesis 18, where Abraham encounters three angels. This moment signifies divine visitation and the promise of a son, Isaac. The angels represent divine favor and blessings, reinforcing the idea that kindness to strangers can lead to profound rewards.Color Palette and Its Emotional Impact

Chiaroscuro: The Play of Light and Shadow
Rembrandt masterfully employs chiaroscuro, the technique of using strong contrasts between light and dark. This technique adds drama and depth to the painting, drawing attention to the figures and their expressions. The light illuminates Abraham and the angels, symbolizing enlightenment and divine revelation.Brushwork and Texture: Capturing Human Emotion
The texture in "Abraham Serving the Angels" is remarkable. Rembrandt's brushwork varies from smooth to rough, creating a tactile quality that brings the figures to life. The details in Abraham's clothing and the angels' wings showcase his skill in rendering human emotion and divine beauty.Composition and Perspective: Guiding the Viewer's Eye
Rembrandt's composition is carefully crafted to guide the viewer's eye through the scene. The arrangement of figures creates a triangular composition, leading to a focal point on Abraham's welcoming gesture. This perspective invites viewers to engage with the narrative and feel the significance of the moment. The Figures in the Painting: A Closer Look

Not oily.
Sprays evenly. Does not have that bug spray sent. Lasts a long time. You don't have to overspray to get good coverage. Works great for mosquitoes.

Fantastic product but only one arrived and NOT 12
My son attends a wonderful boarding school in Deerfield , Massachusetts.
He was totally enjoying all that beautiful New England has to offer,
when I received a frustrated email from him , that he was being eaten alive, every time he stepped outside into the great outdoors! Since I live thousands a miles away on a tropical island my self ,I knew that the only dependable solution would be OFF INSECT REPELLENT SPRAY.I have always used the unscented OFF from when my children were very young but when I saw that the OFF now also has Aloe Vera added ,I was thrilled !
Without hesitation ,I ordered the 12-60z bottles of Off Skintastic Unscented knowing that my son would soon have protection and relief from whatever was constantly biting him .And as always, with Amazon it arrived in a timely fashion but I thought that it was my error or something that ONLY ONE had arrived .We were both very disappointed and it was only today ,when I received a request from Amazon to review my most recent orders that I was positive that this error was the not mine by Amazons .
Great Product but if you order 12, only 1 may come .
Can I please have the rest of my order?

This bug spray is awesome! I wanted something more mild than the 'heavy duty' stuff. I'm not a big fan of DEET,but here in Florida, the mosquitoes are really bad and we need it when playing in the backyard.
Though I wish I could find a waterproof spray, this is the next best thing. It keeps the bugs away the whole time we're out having fun.
It goes on really easy, absorbs fast, and doesn't have a lingering potent smell.
Overall, we're very happy with this spray.
