As a powerful logic of contemporary life, the act of speculation is explored in this anthology through its key instantiations: art and finance. Artistic autonomy often allows the freedom to speculate wildly on material and social possibilities, with the artist as a speculative subject seen as the paragon of creativity; however, once social reality becomes speculative – risky, algorithmic and overhauled by networked markets – what becomes of the distinction between not just art and money, but art and life? Encompassing the artistic, the economic and the philosophical, with excursions into the literary and the scientific, the collected texts in Speculation survey speculative inventiveness from the ground up: speculating with constructs of the family, with technologies, with gender, and with systems of logistics and coordination.

Artists surveyed include Joāo Enxuto and Erica Love, Melanie Gilligan, Elka Krajewska, Sam Lewitt, Jerzy Ludwiński, Adrian Piper, PiRaMMMida, Cameron Rowland, Andy Warhol

Writers include Lisa Adkins, Ramon Amaro, Jasper Bernes, Bertolt Brecht, Binna Choi, Dougal Dixon, Cédric Durand, G.W.F. Hegel, Stanisław Lem, Sophie Lewis, Peter Osborne, Philippe Pignarre, Carter Ratcliff, Isabelle Stengers, Steven Shaviro, Kerstin Stakemeier, Daniel Spaulding, Can Tue, Mi You

Marina Vishmidt is a writer, editor and a lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she convenes the Masters in Culture Industry. She is the co-author of Reproducing Autonomy: Work, Money and Contemporary Art (with Kerstin Stakemeier) (2016), and Speculation as a Mode of Production (2018).

Tough toys!
Color: Orange & Blue
We have 2 deogs, a large Aussie and a small terrior. The little guy is very hard on toys. Few last a full day. We have thrown away hundreds of $ worth of toys, We have had these for a few months, and he has not managed to destoy them yet. They get played with a lot because he has very few toys. I keep trying to find toys which will survive this dog. He hjas even destroyed Kong toys which are pretty tough, but has not destroyed these. I wrote this review as I cam back to order more toys from this company, because it is great to have some which can stand up to his abuse.

Great dog toys
Color: Orange & Blue
These Zeaxuie octopus dog toys are a huge hit with my pup! The crinkle and squeaky features immediately grabbed his attention, and he’s been happily chewing and playing with them ever since. I love that they’re stuffing-free, so I don’t have to worry about any mess. They’re the perfect size for small to medium breeds and seem very durable. These toys have kept my dog entertained for hours – definitely a great purchase!

Our dogs love these
Color: Orange & Blue
We have two rough collies that love to play fetch, tug, and ragdoll. We decided to add these to their play toys. Since getting them they have been ignoring their ducks and going straight for the octopus. We just got them so can’t say much about durability yet but they have been playing with them for hours and still look brand new. Love giving our dogs choices so we can ask them for certain animals to fetch. Love the non-stuffing and the crinkle.

Not for Aggressive Chewers
Color: Orange & Blue
My Dog Loves them. He immediately took the squeaker out, and dismantled some of the legs, but he still runs around trying to play tug-of-war and fetch with the dismembered body piece's 😂☺️
