The palate shows flavours of stone fruit, tangy citrus, and subtle spice. The mouthfeel is precise and silky with a lovely volume of fine tannin and lingering

The colour of the wine comes from the grape skins and the semi-oxidative handling. This vintage has a pale peach hue. There are immediately inviting aromas of apricot, peach, lychee and orange peel, with wild sage and white blossom. The palate shows flavours of stone fruit, tangy citrus, and subtle spice. The mouthfeel is precise and silky with a lovely volume of fine tannin and lingering acidity. Delicious on its own, the Real McCoy shines brightest when paired with a wide array of dishes. We have discovered this is a great wine for cellaring as the evolution is slow and the wine continues to improve with time. I will keep bottles of this vintage in my personal cellar for 15+ years.

Vintage 2023 is our 9th release of a “skins ferment” Pinot Gris from Gibbston. Our experience is starting to pay dividends. We believe this variety responds beautifully to this technique, particularly with the longer hang time and naturally low crops that are the hallmarks of Gibbston. The Real McCoy highlights our intention to embrace the beauty and honesty of seasonality and this Valli wine is perhaps the one that most obviously expresses seasonal differences. Each vintage showcases a consistent, recognisable core with intriguingly different vintage characteristics. The 2023 growing season was generally warmer and drier allowing us to use whole clusters in all 3 of our ferments (25%, 30% and 66%). The bone-dry wine completed a full malolactic fermentation and was bottled after 11.5 months in neutral oak. The wine was not fined or filtered so natural sediment may occur.

Tropical Fringe Fun for My Summer Outfits

I am absolutely obsessed with this straw purse because it feels like a vacation in my hand. The first thing I noticed is how the raffia fringe has this playful half moon shape that looks like a little lion mane but in a very high fashion way. My daughter even joked that it looks like a giant fancy taco which makes it such a fun and unique piece to carry around. It is incredibly lightweight which is a huge relief because I do not want to carry a heavy bag when the weather is hot. Even though it looks compact on my mannequin, it is surprisingly roomy inside and fits my phone and all my daily essentials without feeling stuffed. The magnetic closure is quite strong so I do not have to worry about my things falling out while I am walking around a summer party or a night out. The neutral tan and cream colors in the fringe make it very easy to match with almost any outfit I own. I really appreciate the small metal brand patch on the front because it gives the bag a more polished and expensive look than a typical straw tote you might find at a souvenir shop. One thing to keep in mind is that the raffia is very textured so you should probably be careful with delicate silk fabrics so it does not snag. It feels very sturdy and well made for something that is woven from grass and I love how the fringe adds so much movement when I am moving around. This bag is definitely going to be my go to accessory for the rest of the season because it is both stylish and very practical for my needs.

Super cute clutch!

This is a beautiful clutch. I got the “Natural” color, and the tones are definitely subtle. I am already eyeing the Spicy one too, but for me, the natural color is just easier to match with outfits. I did laugh though because my nephew said it looks like a taco, but honestly that just makes me love it even more! The material is extremely nice, it feels very premium and well made. I was a bit nervous because I have had cheaper bags with that shredded-style material that flakes and falls apart, but that is not the case here. It feels really well made. I cannot speak for long-term durability yet, but so far there is no shedding or anything like that. I also did not notice any loose stitching or threads at all, it just feels like a high-quality bag. It has small magnets to keep it closed, which work nicely. There is not a ton of space since it is a clutch, but there is still enough room for my phone and a few small items, so it works well. Overall, it is just a really gorgeous, well made bag, and I really do not have anything to complain about.

Lily Clutch - awkward size and fabric.

The Sam Edelman Lily Clutch handbag is a bit awkward, in my opinion. I've been told that it looks like a taco and like a folded up rug, and it does look rather awkward. It's also much larger and bulkier than I was expecting. I can't even find a comfortable or natural way to hold it. I don't love how it bulges out on the sides or the way it's difficult to grip because of the fabric design. It's eye catching and a good conversation piece, but it feels impractical. It's more of a statement piece than a useful every day bag or something I'd want to take on a long outing. It looks interesting, but it isn't a bag that makes my life easier or more compact.
