MLS gaskets have increased strength because they are comprised of multiple layers of stainless steel; which also creates the ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with Viton (a flour elastomer rubber based material that is heat resistant to 250 C/ 482 F). Viton is designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions, and surface finishes. Looks perfect on a lower shelf of living room coffee table. The black outside is classy and the wood top matches the color of my wood coffee table. Sure makes tissue boxes look great! Never thought I'd "love" a tissue box holder but these are very nice. Weighted do the box doesn't move when you pull a tissue out. Bottom is magnetic, and they don't look cheap. Look well made. Highly recommend!
