The Artist's Intention

Dive into the exotic allure that is "Fish," a mesmerizing composition that captures the evanescent beauty of some of the ocean's most enigmatic and rare inhabitants. As spirit animals, these exotic fish represent the intricate dance between the elusive and the palpable, embodying attributes like agility, mystery, and vibrant complexity. This isn't simply a painting, but a surreal dreamscape that beckons you to explore the labyrinthine corridors of your emotions and desires. Every contour and nuance seems to whisper secrets, inviting a deeper exploration into the captivating universe of your inner life. Crafted for those who see luxury as a journey rather than a destination, "Fish" is a kaleidoscopic experience that enriches your personal sanctuary with its complex, moody elegance.

An inspiring take on the story of the Bible and reality.
Format: Kindle
This was an absolute pleasure to read. Oswalt utilizes his knowledge of ancient near east culture and religion to thorough debunk any effort to one might make to pretend that the Bible is of a similar mythology.

Is the Bible Really Unique?
Format: Kindle
Oswalt takes up the question of the uniqueness of the Christian Bible by focusing on the Old Testament (which is also the holy book of the Jews) and its similarities and differences to the myths of the periods in which it was put together. His comparison and contrast make for very interesting reading. He allows the two world views to stand alone, allowing the reader to understand his conclusions without forcing him/her to agree with the author. In reading this book, I also began to notice some very interesting parallels between the ancient worldview of "continuity" (versus the biblical view that Oswalt calls "transcendence") and some modern views being espoused in the Western world. Definitely worth a read whether or not you agree with him. It will help broaden your view both of your view and of the other side's view.

Good Core Content but I won't read it again
Format: Kindle
This book makes a strong stand for the position that the Bible does not fit within the genre of myth. That is the positive aspects of this work. However, this book at times seems somewhat philosophical, it can be hard to follow the author's logic, and it does not adequately cover one of the most fundamental questions the author poses. For example, the question of whether the theology of the Bible should receive special credence if the historical basis it rests on is found to be incorrect is asked, but the answer given is short and does not fully interact with the question which I found to be very disappointing.
