"The General" is a renowned steam locomotive celebrated for its involvement in the 1862 Great Locomotive Chase. Union soldiers hijacked it in an audacious attempt to sever Confederate supply lines, leading to a dramatic, high-speed pursuit by the train's Confederate conductor, William Fuller.
