Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know which products are right for me?
Here is our Product Comparison Chart. We all have unique body chemistries and sometimes a little trial and error is necessary to find the right lactation product for your body’s needs. We often suggest a bestseller bundle to start, so that you can test out 3 popular products at a reduced price.
  • What's the difference between Cash Cow and Milkapalooza?
Cash Cow contains goat's rue and alfalfa as the main heavy-hitting ingredients while Milkapalooza contains moringa and nettle. Cash Cow can also be used in late term pregnancy. We all react differently to herbs and what works wonders for one individual may not have the same effect on another, so we have different formulas to help you find the right fit. You can read about our ingredients and their benefits here.
  • Why is this product not Gluten Free?
Goat's rue is not gluten-free. In order to get a product certified gluten-free, it has to test out at 10ppm (parts per million) or less. Our Cash Cow has never tested below that, and we have narrowed it down to the goat's rue that makes it miss the mark. We have tried many sources of goat's rue and none of them are gluten-free which is interesting because a lot of companies are advertising their goat's rue as gluten-free. We don't believe the gluten content is high, but it still doesn't meet our strict testing standards.
  • What are the benefits of this product?
The herbs in Cash Cow have been shown to assist with milk production, milk enrichment and nutrition, mammary gland stimulation, prolactin release, milk flow and let-downs, and can help improve insulin signaling in the body.
  • Does this product increase fat content in milk?
Although a mother's diet doesn't affect the total amount of fat in breastmilk, it can influence the fatty acid composition. A diet rich in DHA and other polyunsaturated fatty acids will lead to an increased amount in breastmilk. Alfalfa is a good source of PUFA and particularly Omega-3 fatty acids like alpha-linolenic acid.
  • Can I combine supplements?
We suggest trying one product at a time for at least 7-10 days to see which one works best for you.. We all have very unique body chemistries so trying them individually can help determine what works best for you. Some parents prefer to take a combination of products and that's perfectly fine, but it does make it more difficult to determine which product is impacting your milk production the most. If you find that more than one product works well for you after testing them you can certainly combine them at that time! Some parents alternate between products throughout the day, alternate days, or combine the dosage of each daily. It may require a few tries to find the perfect combination for your body.
  • How long does it take to start working?
Some parents notice a change within a few days, but we recommend taking each product for at least 7-10 days.
  • How soon after birth should I start taking the product?
For parents with a history of low milk supply in a previous breastfeeding journey, beginning the supplements immediately postpartum may be appropriate. For first-time parents however, we usually suggest playing it by ear and reaching out to us if milk supply concerns develop.
  • Are these safe to take while pregnant?
Out of an abundance of caution, we don't recommend taking any supplements while pregnant with ingredients that haven't been part of clinical studies. For example, some of the ingredients in Cash Cow like alfalfa can be taken earlier on in pregnancy. However, moringa has only been researched for its use with late-term mothers. Moringa is considered part of the cuisine in some Asian countries so it's a really well-tolerated lactogenic plant but out of an abundance of caution, we typically defer to the study that was done around 36 weeks of pregnancy when making recommendations for starting Cash Cow which can be taken after 36 weeks of pregnancy.
  • What dosage should I take?
Per the supplement facts, we recommend 2 pills, 3 times a day.
  • What time of day should I take the products?
3 times a day with a meal or a high-protein/healthy-fat snack. Many parents take them with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • When does the product expire?
Cash Cow has a 3 year expiration date from manufacturing. Please refer to the bottom of your bottle for specific expiration date.
  • I can't swallow capsules, how can I take these?
Some individuals who are not able to swallow capsules will open them and sprinkle the contents in a spoonful of applesauce or yogurt. It's best to not dilute them too much.
  • How long should I take the product?
It varies! Some parents use our products for a short time to jump-start their supply and some parents take them for the duration of their breastfeeding journey.
  • Can I take this along with Sunflower Lecithin?
    Absolutely and many parents do!
  • Do your products contain fillers?
Never. Our products are free of additives and fillers. All you will find in the capsules are the herbs listed on the back of the bottle.
  • How should I store this product?
We recommend storing the products in a cool, dry place.

There have to be other places to save on your camping budget
Style: 15' Rhino Sewer Hose
After 5 years of regular use with my original Camco RhinoFLEX sewer hose, I decided to proactively get another one and retire the OG to the inside of the bumper to keep as an emergency use hose. Did I consider purchasing other brands and hoses to save a few $$$? Yes I did. Then I thought about never having to clean up a stinky black tank mess and promptly bought another one. If it ain't broke - or hasn't broke after five years of use - then don't fix it, and by that I mean don't overthink it. RhinoFLEX FTW.

Awesome filter! Nasty campground water no longer...
Style: Standard Filter
I have run these for years in my RV and they work killer! Here's some more in-depth thoughts: Pros: - These work better than I had expected. Just hook them up to the water source, hook your hose to it, run it to your trailer and viola` clean and good tasting water. Some of the places we have visited have had water that I wouldn't feed to my worst enemy. With this thing attached, it's very good tasting. - I like the hose attachment that comes with this to aide in adding flexibility to the system and not put too much strain on the system. I have bought so many of these, I now use one attaching the filter to the nozzle, one out of the filter to my hose, and one attaching my hose to the trailer. Notes: - I will note that the manufacturer suggesting using these for only 1 camping season, and this makes sense. That's what I do, and it seems to work out great. It's not too much $ to replace every season. - Another note, when first putting this filter into service (just the first time of the season, subsequent hook-ups wont do this) there will be a bunch of carbon (black in the water) that comes out of the faucet in your trailer. This is perfectly fine, safe, and of no issue. This is the filter breaking in and getting the extra carbon out of the system. There is no health concern with this happening. I just run the faucet until it clears up, and then we're good to go for the rest of the season. - Last note, when we unhook from our camping spot, I swing the filter in my hand with my arm extended (using centrifugal force, not centrifical, look it up) to get the residual water out of the filter so it doesn't sit in there and spoil. I do this until I get most of the water drops to stop, leave it out on the counter to dry, and boom, it's perfect the next time. Cons: - None to report Overall this filter does a great job taking care of some seriously nasty campground water that we've encountered all over the Southwest US. I cannot recommend it any higher. I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this product. Clean, Great-Tasting Water Made Easy with Camco Tastepure
Style: Standard Filter
I installed the Camco Tastepure RV inline water filter on our rig, and it’s another example of why I’ve come to trust Camco products. The reinforced strain relief hose is a small but incredibly smart feature—it keeps the connection between the filter, hose, and RV kink-free and easy to manage. Setup was simple, and the whole system feels sturdy and well-designed. A tip I’ve learned through experience: before putting a new filter into service, run water through the internal charcoal filter for 30 - 45 seconds. This flushes out any loose charcoal bits and ensures the first water you drink is crystal clean and tastes amazing. After that, connecting to the RV is straightforward, and you immediately notice how much better the water tastes. Whether filling up a glass or cooking, it’s made a real difference in our RV experience. Reliable, easy to use, and excellent tasting water every time - I highly recommend this to any RV owner who cares about water quality on the road.

works well for camping
Style: Standard Filter
I’ve used this filter on my camper for years without issues, so I installed one in my outdoor kitchen at home. It was connected to a hose bib and left under constant pressure, feeding a small electric water heater for a sink. That turned out to be a mistake. Overnight, the top of the filter housing cracked and leaked water throughout the cabinet. No idea how long it was spraying. This filter works fine for intermittent use (like camping), but it does not appear to be designed for continuous pressure. I would not recommend installing it in a permanent, always-pressurized setup.
