The Pleasure of Writing Medieval Journal Refill is hand bound right here in our workshop in the United States. This journal is meant to be used, the perfect travel journal and diary. It's made to last and to be enjoyed forever!

Our journal refills have 160 5 ½” x 8 1/2” pages (80 sheets) of light crème colored, 120gsm paper. It is handmade, 100% cotton rag (meaning it has a slight tooth) Arches paper, archival and acid free. Each page is torn by hand from parent sheets, and the edges are left natural to give you the authentic artisanal look and feel. The eight sections of paper are hand stitched for durability, allowing the journal to lay flat when it is open, and are bordered by authentic linen front and back pages.

The refill slides into flaps at the front and back of our Refillable Journal, and can easily be archived and labeled for future reference.

The legendary Arches paper mill is one of the oldest in the world, having been in business since 1492. Their paper is perfect for drawing, watercolor and fountain pen, especially broader nibs. You can use both sides for writing or art work; the paper is so thick that it absorbs ink and watercolors well without bleedthrough.
