The Met x Eichholtz presents the Bust of Youth, inspired by a Roman head of a youth (117–161 CE) from The Met's collection. Featuring a marble finish and a black granite base, this modern reimagining captures the idealized beauty of ancient sculpture. It brings a timeless fusion of historical significance and contemporary elegance to any decor.
HISTORIC PROVENANCE
The Bust of a Youth echoes the idealized Roman head (117–161 CE) from The Met collection, sculpted during the Hadrianic or Early Antonine periods. The polished flesh, sharply defined eyes, and intricate locks of hair mimic the classicizing style of bronze sculptures, later replicated in marble during Emperor Hadrian's reign in the early 2nd century CE.
