The AL560 requires the power chair to have flip-back arms — chairs with fixed arms are not compatible. Your vehicle needs a Class II or III hitch and a hitch height between 5" and 19". If your power chair is larger than the 28.5" platform width can accommodate, see the AL560XL with its wider 32.5" platform. We confirm compatibility on every order before it ships — no exceptions. The AL560's loading sequence is fully hands-free from the user's perspective. The platform lowers to ground level; the power chair user drives directly onto the platform from either side using the chair's joystick; the vertically adjustable padded hold-down arm descends automatically and presses down on the seat to secure the chair. One switch lifts the platform to travel height. No straps to thread, no docking pin to engage, no caregiver assistance required. The wheel cradles adjust to provide a custom snug fit for each chair's wheelbase, providing additional lateral stability during transport.

The AL560's 28.5" × 38.5" platform accommodates most popular full-size power chairs. The adjustable wheel cradles adapt to different wheelbase widths. Class II or III hitch compatibility gives the AL560 broad vehicle reach — it works with minivans, SUVs, trucks, and vans equipped with either hitch class. Hitch height range is 5" to 19". For power chairs wider than 28.5", the AL560XL offers a 32.5" platform with the same automatic hold-down system. Call us to confirm which platform width your chair needs.

The platform folds automatically when the power chair is removed — press the switch and the platform rises vertically against the vehicle for a compact stowed profile. Manual crank backup allows the platform to be lowered in the event of a power failure. License plate mount included standard. Optional swing-away allows the folded lift to pivot aside for rear vehicle access without removing the device. Frequently Asked Questions
Both use the same automatic padded hold-down arm, drive-on/off platform, and one-switch operation. The only meaningful difference is platform width — the AL560 has a 28.5" × 38.5" platform while the AL560XL has a wider 32.5" × 38.5" platform for larger power chairs. The XL weighs 115 lbs installed vs 105 lbs for the standard. If your power chair fits comfortably on a 28.5" wide platform, the AL560 is the more economical choice. No — the AL560 requires flip-back arms. The padded hold-down arm secures the chair by pressing down on the seat, and fixed arms prevent the arm from reaching the correct position. Call us and we will identify the right lift for a chair with fixed arms. 866-218-0902.
The AL500 uses four Q'Straint retractors that hook to the chair's frame — it is lighter (75 lbs) but requires a manual attachment step. The AL560 uses an automatic padded hold-down arm — no hooks to attach, purely drive-on and go. The AL560 requires flip-back arms; the AL500 does not have that restriction but uses a different securement approach. Excellent (slightly) spooky read

Another great read by Meg Eden Kuyatt. I am not much of a scary books fan, but this one was so good. I especially loved that the main character has autism and we learn so much through how different members of her family treat her.

Fun educational book

This book is a big hit! My 5 year old son and I read it so many times since we ordered this in April. It has cute illustration and 60 flaps and pop-ups which make the book even more exciting. And because of this, I don’t recommend this book to young kids under 3 though. Some flaps might be tricky for younger kids. Even I as a parent learned so much about construction.

Great book, but the other book of the same author is much better
Format: Hardcover
This is a very high quality book, chock a block full of information about construction sites, with lots of imaginative flaps, things that swivel, move, and fold. HOWEVER...it is not as good as "The Ultimate Book of Vehicles" by the same author. The "Vehicles" book is more appropriate for kids 3 years and up: It is still full of awesome flaps, swivels, and things that move, but it is simpler, with pictures of the vehicle, the name of the vehicle, and maybe a few names of the parts of the vehicle. You open up a flap to see inside, make it move, etc. My son found it very interesting.
The "Construction" is really aimed for older kids, I'm guessing 5 and up, maybe even older. There are just so many words on the page, and so much information. The flaps are not as interesting as the previous book, and I found many of the moving parts to be "sticky", and my 3 year old ripped quite a few out within a week of reading the book. We have not ripped anything from the "Vehicle" book.
So I would say if you have an older kid who wants to gain a lot of knowledge about construction sites, this book is for you. But if you have a younger child (3 and up, any younger and they'd destroy the book), get the "Vehicle" book.

So Much Fun And Very Informative

This book has been a winner in our house since it arrived. Each page has so many flaps, spins, pulls and movement. So many new words and easy explanations for the kids. The pictures are beautifully designed and each time we look through it we find more details we missed!
The book is an excellent purchase and definitely worth every penny!
