AERO IS EVERYTHING

TAUGHT LINES – PURE SPEED

Let us introduce the brand-new LOOK 895 VITESSE, the new kid on the velodrome ready to make some waves; and it certainly won’t be on the Côte d’Azur*.

LOOK’s history and reputation has long been entwined with track cycling. From the first track frame ridden to success in Atlanta ‘96 to the medals won in Tokyo aboard the elite T20, our bikes have been at the cutting edge of performance for over 25 years.

Drawing on the success and principles of the previous R96 model, this new track machine is built in-house in our workshops in Tunisia. Using high modulus carbon fiber, the monobloc carbon construction is unapologetically oriented toward aerodynamic efficiency.

MONOBLOC CONSTRUCTION

SHEER POWER

At the front end, it borrows the fork of the T20 and combines it with the integrated, rotative Carbon Track Stem, which is available in 18 different sizes (from 55 to 140mm in 5mm increments) to allow for extremely precise fitting no matter the rider’s position and riding style. The aggressive design extends into oversized, carefully profiled tubes before wrapping around the rear wheel to reduce drag to an absolute minimum. The seat tube is fully integrated to further improve aero performance, with a dedicated, reversible saddle cradle that allows for custom fitting.

STIFF AND FAST

THE NEXT LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE

The 895 VITESSE takes the opening in our range between the T20 and the 875 Madison and fills it with high class, effective performance at a competitive price point. As its name suggests, this is a bike designed for uncompromising speed. A bike that will accept nothing less than winning. When the head and the legs say go, it asks no question but simply answers with the full extent of its pureblood heritage.

The commanding BSA 68mm bottom bracket is ultra-stiff for maximum power transfer and unlike its bigger brother the T20, does not feature the ZED crankset. This means it can be fitted with any track crankset on the market for utmost versatility.

A HISTORICAL PARTNERSHIP

FRENCH CYCLING FEDERATION

LOOK has been a technical partner of the French Cycling Federation for over than 30 years. Designed and developed with and for its athletes, the aim was to make a high- performance, versatile frame with the goal of optimizing the performance of its teams.

Technologies

TRACK GEOMETRY AND AERODYNAMISM

The geometry of the 895 is completely new and perfectly complements the LOOK track product line, namely the T20, R96, AL 464 and 875 Madison. The 895 Vitesse thus offers a geometry resulting from the competition available in 4 sizes allowing a positioning perfectly adapted to each cyclist.

The fork being that of the T20, the frame kit is designed to be as aerodynamic as possible.

CARBON COMPOSITION

The carbon composition of the 895 is a high-end carbon composition using different types of carbon in strategic places of the frame. Up to 20% of HM (High modulus) carbon is used to achieve the stiffness necessary for use on the track. Overall a versatile trail bike like the 895 is 15% stiffer than a road bike frame.

IM carbon (Intermediate modulus 65%) and HR carbon (high strength, 15%) complete this composition in order to provide the frame with foolproof resistance even when it is subjected to the worst stresses often associated with use in competition on a velodrome.

My Denon ROCKS
Style: AVR-X3800H
Pros: Nine Amps power a 9.1 or 7.1.2 or 5.2.4 speaker configuration because most of us want Atmos to work in our listening room. Plenty of power available in each amp and each configuration Atmos DTS IMAX plus any other codec or audio visual enhancement is available. Yes, 4K 8K HDR all supported. Three HDMI outputs Preamp output for up to 11 channels so any combination of preamp vs. power amplifier output is available. But not both preamp AND power amp for the same channel. And you can pick and choose which channel you want for pre amp vs power amp individually. So it can function as a AV Preamp Processor at very reasonable price point. DAC (changes Digital Signal to Analog) with all the power amplifiers you could want. High quality, including DSD, is an added bonus. Setup customizable to the nth degree. Some people might say too many options but that’s the way we get this AVR to meet our individual requirements I’ve been working with the setup for the last week and have dialed in for my needs. Still playing with the HEOS but I think it’s working well for now. Various HDMI inputs need different surround settings, I like the DTS best, but the unit has a way to include default settings for each HDMI. I’ll use default settings with my BluRay. And I’ll use direct or pure or whatever the source allows for music and streaming. And most users will want a streaming stick like the Amazon one otherwise you can’t get the Atmos signal to work. Older streamers won’t pass the Atmos signal though. The only problem with a device like this is you will buy more speakers and amps and possibly even more subwoofers, the unit will support 4 subwoofers. Enjoy So I will get back to you with comments about longer term issues. BTW the 3800 was a refurbished version for $999 . Definitely an excellent value. The online reviews are quite favorable. Even the audiophiles are still learning the nuances of setup. It’s worth the extra effort to get the most out of each user’s individual existing equipment. Cons: None. I’ve been an audio video nerd for decades so I can say that the setup effort is easily justified once the user, with user manual in hand, patiently works out the desired configuration. The audio expert online information is invaluable. I have 21MBS broadband service in my region. Even with this limitation I have more than enough added capacity with the Denon that I would never return it to seller unless someone catastrophic happened. Yes I like it that much.

Denon Refurb AVR-X3800h.. IMPRESSIVE!
Style: AVR-X3800H, Style: AVR-X3800H
I did a lot of homework and made contact with the seller. Great communication. Turns out all of the Denon refurbished receivers are inspected or repaired by DENON, and re-certified only after passing tests upon functional as new. It arrived in a Denon box, very well insulated. Contained all NEW accessories like new & sealed. Appears flawless. The setup was easy since I have years of previous experience with surround systems. This replaced my Onkyo of 10 years. And WOW, the difference is phenomenal! Great onscreen setup + smart phone app makes it nice for making fine tuning adjustments. This model is packed with all the latest tech. The Durac Live is easily downloadable, but I am so impressed with the Audacy setup I didn’t buy the download. Great value refurbished. It comes with a one year warranty, so I purchased the 3 year assurion warranty since I saved so much money. Very happy.

PITA to Set-Up and Hard to Connect to WiFi
Style: AVR-X3800H
This one went right back after hours spent on set-up. Room correction software was buggy as well. I couldn't get it going and called it a day and bought the Onkyo TX-RZ50 which is equally hard to get consistent sound and and hard to cnnect to WiFi and Bluetooth. Onkyo support, however, is far superior.

Great receiver, Digital Room Correction is worth it
Style: AVR-X3800H
Being a refurb, the unit seems brand new. No issues at all, working great so far after months of use. Audyssey XT32 works really well in my main seating position. Any other listening position on the couch is not great, but not the receivers issue. Just noting that there’s only so much you can fix with digital room correction, my room is the opposite of ideal. Love the multiple sub control. Dynamic EQ is fantastic also. Audyssey transformed my music. My 5.2 speaker setup is Frankenstein’d together with different brands and it was interesting to see the drastically different frequency responses of each speaker. With it all tuned, it sounds great. I find myself just sitting down and jamming to music for hours.

Solid!
Style: AVR-X3800H
It's a rock-solid receiver with modern and future-proof features. Denon isn't the flashiest or most aesthetically pleasing design; however, the unit is reliable and sounds great. I used Dirac Live to fine tune the system, and it's been a worthwhile upgrade from my X-2700.
