POWELL, Michael. 200,000 Feet on Foula. Faber. 1938.

8vo. Original cloth with dust wrapper; pp. xii + 334, b&w photos; minute fray at the heel and five very small ink spots to front board, wrapper with considerable loss to head and foot of spine with tears to corners, long tear to rear panel, previous owner's signature to ffep, very good.

First edition. Scarce in dustwrapper. The legendary British film director Michael Powell's first book, a diary-like account of the making of his classic 1937 film, The Edge of the World, a project that was very close to his heart and his first film to be shot in the beloved Scottish Isles (the next was I Know Where I'm Going, in 1945). The film's story was inspired by the evacuation of St. Kilda, and won the director an introduction to the great British producer Alexander Korda, followed, of course, by a teaming with Emeric Pressburger and a brilliant career.

Leaves an EXTREMELY SHARP edge - cuts off entire lid from sides of can!
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
This can opener cut off the whole top of the tuna cans and left an insanely sharp, wobbly, very thin edge of the top of the can that nearly cut me because there was no heavy metal lip left behind to hold the structure of the top of the can! This is a very bad feature that is going to really hurt someone! I do NOT recommend this for anyone! Needs a product recall!

Lackluster
Color: Black, Color: Black
It does what it’s supposed to but only for a couple of cans before it dies. I’ve learned that I have to charge it before I put it away or it’s dead when I need it next and that’s after 2-3 cans. It’s small and fits in my drawer nice, does what it’s supposed to, just a little disappointed in how long it lasts

Better way to open a can
Color: Blue
I may not have arthritis, but it saves time and energy. I will be buying another one for the band concession stand. It beats using an original can opener.
