The S.O.L.A.R. Records label (acronym for Sounds of Los Angeles Records) was founded in 1977 by Dick Griffey, which quickly became one of the most important disco, R&B, and dance music imprints of the late 1970s and 1980s. Shalamar were the label's best selling act. The "SOLAR sound" was a collective effort, with artists working on each other's sessions. Sylvers was the producer behind the trademark SOLAR sound: funky, progressive dance music infused with soul and disco. This excellent 2X CD compilation showcases rare 12" mixes from many of their artists including: Dynasty, Klymaxx, the Whispers, Lakeside, Midnight Star, Calloway, Carrie Lucas, Collage and the Deele, which introduced singer/songwriter/producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds & future music executive Antonio "L.A." Reid.

Base a bit light
Color: Gold-b
Attractive, functional but would benefit from a weightier base

Nice touch!
Color: Gold-b, Color: Gold-b
Handles large paper towel rolls. The gold color on the top which is mainly what you see when you have paper towels on it, coordinates nicely with the various shades of gold in my kitchen. The 4" pulls brushed gold, the Delta pull down facet as well as the Euro (Lamps plus) aged brass mini pendant. I find it easy to tear off paper towels even without the small tear bar found on different holders. Was a few $ more but it matches perfectly. Well worth it.
