A beautifully designed celebration of the 40th birthday of the Barbican Arts Centre, in the heart of the City of London. It is the largest multi-arts centre in Europe, encompassing an art gallery, theatres, concert halls, cinemas and a much-loved conservatory, and regular collaborators include the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Compiled by Nicholas Kenyon, the Barbican Centre's Managing Director 2007-2021, this is an in-depth exploration of the centre, drawing on the vast array of material available in its archives, much of which has never been seen before. It includes plans and photographs from the centre's design and construction, original signage and branding, and brochures and programmes. All this is accompanied by a wealth of photographs of the huge range of performances and exhibitions that have taken place over the years, from early RSC performances to the popular Rain Room installation of 2012 to today's impressive programme of events put together in conjunction with schools and the local community. The book's authoritative and evocative text includes: Foreword by Fiona Shaw Introduction by Sir Nicholas Kenyon Cultural historian Robert Hewison on how the centre came into being Architectural historian Elain Harwood on its architecture Music critic Fiona Maddocks on music Writer and theatre critic Lyn Gardner on theatre Editor and creative director Tony Chambers on visual art Author and film critic Sukhdev Sandhu on filmWith listings of Barbican events from 1982 to the present day, and snippets of oral history from some of the many people associated with the centre over the years, this sumptuous book is an invaluable companion to one of the world's most important cultural spaces.

Great Room Divider
Color: Dark Gray, Size: 2 Panel "I", Color: Dark Gray, Size: 2 Panel "I"
I wanted to create a guest room. This room divider does the job perfectly without breaking the bank. It is sturdy and stand alone without bending. Thank you VIVO!

Waste of Money
Color: Dark Gray, Size: 3 Panel "L"
Don't think you are getting a professional divider. These things are pressed cardboard, they rattle and they have no sound reduction. I would return if it wasn't such a pain to dis assemble and repackage. We bought three for our office, but the other two will immediately be returned on Monday.....WASTE of time and money.

Heavy and bit of a pain to put together
Color: Dark Gray, Size: 2 Panel "I"
This unit is better for an industrial or business setting. It's rather cumbersome and awkward to assemble. Needs to be kept stationary after putting it together, was not easy to move around once it was up.

Highly Customizable Modular Wall System
Color: Dark Gray, Size: 2 Panel "I"
The VIVO Modular Wall System is sturdy and easy to assemble. The semi-lightweight panels slide in and out of the modular frame. The panels are made of very strong and thick panels that provide a simple, good-looking room barrier. The dark grey tone of the privacy panels looks good with a multitude of interior decors. This product is suitable for commercial applications, but it can also be used for home use. I tested this product and installed it in my computer lab to create a private computer corner. I work better by having a cubicle area that is free from distractions. The VIVO modular wall system effectively gives me "blinders" so that the rest of my work area is not a distraction anymore.
