The photo-shoot features Mineral Twinkle Effects applied dry, wet, over black. The bottom images are shown both with flash and in natural light; while the top two images are shown applied dry.  Mineral Twinkle Effects also produce a true 'aurora borealis', or multicolored effect when two or more shades are blended.
