For those of you who don’t know the “Legend of the Pussy Willow”: In an old Polish legend, many springs ago, a mother cat was crying at the bank of the river where her kittens were drowning. The willow at the river's edge longed to help her, so it swept its long graceful branches into the waters to rescue the tiny kittens who had fallen into the river while chasing butterflies. The clinging fur babies were delivered safely to mama cat on the banks of the water. Thus, the curious bough is christened.
