Six Questions Your Molly Maid Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise unit financial model using deep research into the residential cleaning sector to ensure accuracy. Key assumptions like the $14,900 franchise fee, 6.5% royalty, and diverse revenue streams from recurring home cleaning to vacation rentals are pre-populated and fully editable. With year one EBITDA starting at $109,000 and scaling to $437,000, this model gives you a data-driven starting point to evaluate your potential investment.

When will the unit turn a profit?

This franchise unit is designed for rapid entry, reaching break-even in the very first month of operation. By year one, you are looking at an EBITDA of $109,000, which grows to $437,000 by year five as you scale your crew and recurring customer base. Profitability is a marathon, but you still want to run fast.

Boost Your Bottom Line

  • Optimize technician density to lower fuel costs
  • Upsell deep cleaning to recurring clients
  • Reduce supply waste through inventory controls
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capital is needed to start?

Launching this unit requires a significant initial investment, with major outflows for branded vehicles and equipment. Based on the data, your total startup costs include a $14,900 franchise fee and over $100,000 in physical assets and marketing to ensure a strong launch in the US market. You can't start a fire without a spark or a business without cash.

Primary Capital Uses

  • Branded Service Vehicles: $82,000
  • Cleaning Equipment and Tools: $22,500
  • Initial Franchise Fee: $14,900
  • Launch Marketing Campaign: $15,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the expected return on investment?

Investors can expect a 3-year payback period on their initial capital according to the model. The projections show an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 6.64% and a Return on Equity (ROE) of 1.14, reflecting a stable service business with consistent cash flow. A 3-year payback is a solid win in the home services space.

Key Investment Metrics

  • Internal Rate of Return: 6.64%
  • Payback Period: 3 Years
  • Year 5 EBITDA: $437,000
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the monthly break-even point?

The unit hits its break-even point in January 2026, almost immediately after launch. This is driven by low fixed overhead-around $5,800 monthly for rent and insurance-and a strong focus on recurring residential cleaning revenue which starts at $270,000 in the first year. Speed to break-even is the best metric for operational health.

Levers for Faster Break-Even

  • Secure 10 recurring contracts before launch
  • Minimize office rent and utility overhead
  • Focus on high-margin vacation rental turnovers
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the cash runway and lowest point?

The lowest cash point is projected for April 2026 at $1.108 million, suggesting a need for substantial liquidity or financing during the initial ramp-up. You will need to manage your cash flow tightly during the first quarter as you pay for vehicle wraps, equipment, and training materials. Cash is oxygen; don't run out of it while climbing the mountain.

Protect Your Cash Flow

  • Lease vehicles instead of buying cash
  • Phase in cleaning technicians as demand grows
  • Negotiate net-30 terms with supply vendors
[dynamic_pic13]

How do different scenarios impact the business?

Moving from a Medium to a High scenario significantly shifts your year-one margin by increasing technician productivity and average ticket prices. The model allows you to stress-test your projections by adjusting revenue and labor costs, showing how a 10% dip in demand affects your ability to service debt or pay royalties. Scenarios are just what-ifs until you actually execute the plan.

Hitting the High Case

  • Improve technician retention to lower training costs
  • Execute hyper-local SEO for luxury zip codes
  • Maintain 24-hour guarantee to drive referrals

Is this the CURE!
Size: Regular, Color: Cream
I have a skin disease called Ichthyosis Vulgaris. Yes, SCALEY FISH! Thanks MOM! This unfortunate crud leaves my heels an embarrassing mess! They are cracked and dry and literally like concrete. I have had this disease all my life and there is NO cure. It's hideous! Anyway, I have tried so many different experiments to help improve my situation. So much time and money I will never get back. So when I saw these, I had to give them a try too because I am a forever optimist and love being disappointed. Here's how it went. First I put my dermatologist recommended AmLactin on my crusty heels. Then, I put the socks on. By the way, with no problem at all, and went to bed. I was not too hot, which is usually what happens when I sleep with socks on. I never even realized that I had them on. When I woke up, I took them off and immediately used a "Heel File" over a towel removing all the yuck!. Then, I sand papered them to smooth the skin out. Then, I doused them with Shea and Aloe foot lotion I found at the bottom of my experiment drawer in my bathroom. Oh, they felt like someone else's feet. I am very hopeful at this moment! Is this the cure to my embarrassing situation? I sure hope so. Spring is here and I would really like to wear my cute flip-flops when I go to the Waffle House and set at the bar. Wasn't that a picture on Facebook of someone nasty heels? It made me gag. Then, I had to make sure that picture wasn't me! I am going to do this for a week and come back for another review. Wish me luck ya'll! UPDATE! So it’s been about two weeks. I wish that I had taken a before and after picture. I guess I figure that this too will be a waste of money. NO! These little socks are a God send for me. I did buy AmLactin foot repair cream and that I highly recommend. It’s the best so far. They also offer an option with heel socks. They are soft and work very well also but one negative. They leave fuzzies on you feet and tools. Guys this is it for me. My search is over! I went to my mani/pedi queen yesterday and she was shocked when she saw my feet. She is spreading the word!

Buy these!
Size: Regular, Color: Cream
I only write a review when I have a strong opinion and want to help others decide. I've been having trouble with cracked heels for months. Previously I had just been using regular socks, but these slip-ons have been game changers! They don't make my feet hot at night. They are comfortable and in the morning my heels feel soft, and I don't need to use them everyday. They look good and fit well even if I want to wear them under socks or in shoes during the day. They really do help if you have cracked heels along with some kind of lotion. Definitely effective!

Cracked heels are gone after 5 applications
Size: Regular, Color: Cream
These moisturizing socks work great. My heels are happy again. The open toe design makes it so my feet don’t overheat at night. It only took 5 times to get rid of my painful cracked heels. Now I wear them 1-2 times a week to keep my heels healthy.

Really nice but needs a few small improvements
Size: Regular, Color: Cream
Super comfortable and the gel lining feels so nice on my feet. They seem to do their job and help with moisturizing and so far the quality has been great. I deducted a star because they can be difficult to clean and may not fit wider feet. Otherwise a great value for your money
