The Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE ® ) 70mm EDF has changed the world of trainer models, and finally made it possible to successfully learn model flying with a jet! The E-flite ® developers also recognized that a more powerful version would be even more appealing for advanced to experienced pilots. Face the Habu SS (Super Sport) 70 mm EDF-Jet - a modified version of the Habu STS that offers almost unlimited vertical climb performance, more top speed and even better aerobatic properties. It has a 4S to 6S-compatible drive concept with a specially matched motor and a 70 mm 10-blade impeller as well as a telemetry-capable Avian ™ 70-A Smart Lite controller. He's also in a BNF®Basic version available, which is equipped with exclusive Spektrum ™ AS3X ® and optionally usable SAFE ® Select technologies. The Habu SS is ideally suited for a wide range of pilots to successfully get into jet flying - and is at the same time one of the best all-round models for problem-free high-performance EDF flying fun for experienced pilots!

Based on the legendary Habu - one of the best and most powerful EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) sports jet platforms ever developed - is the E-flite ®Habu SS (Super Sport) 70mm EDF a more powerful version of the popular Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE)! It is a simple, straightforward, and easy-to-fly high-performance sports jet that is a perfect beginner's impeller jet for RC pilots with little experience - and at the same time one of the best everyday sports jets of all time for experienced pilots. The Habu SS offers the same incredible handling and low-speed performance as the STS, but has updates and upgrades for better aerobatic skills, higher speeds, and near-unlimited vertical performance. The specially tuned motor and 70mm 10-blade impeller are compatible with 4S to 6S batteries without the need for modifications or upgrades. This factory-installed propulsion system delivers a lot of speed and thrust with popular 4S 3200mAh batteries, additional power with 5S batteries or almost unlimited vertical power and speeds of up to 160 kmh when descending with 6S 4000mAh batteries! With smart and non-smart batteries, the exclusive 70 A range™ Avian ™ Smart Lite controllers provide a variety of real-time telemetry data of the propulsion system, including motor speed, current, total battery voltage (and more) via compatible receivers (such as the AR631 included with the BNF ® Basic version) and with spectrum AirWare ™ equipped transmitters. And best of all: a wide range of pilots, even those who have never flown an impeller model before, can fly this model successfully - especially the BNF ® Basic version, which offers the exclusive AS3X ® and SAFE ® Select technologies.
The airframe, which is factory-made in a perfectly visible color scheme, is reinforced in order to cope with the higher speed and increased aerobatic skills out-of-the-box. The optional rigid chassis is equipped with wheels and tires with smaller diameters for a slimmer appearance and less air resistance. The wide track and the steerable nose wheel make it easy to taxi, take off and land on paved, unpaved and shorter grass runways - or you can mount the larger wheels of the Habu STS to take off from higher grass and other rough surfaces. You can also remove the landing gear for more airspeed and vertical climb performance and simply lift the Habu into the air with hand starts and land on its stomach. The best part is

Exclusive technologies
The BNF ® Basic version is equipped with exclusive Spektrum ™ AS3X ® and SAFE ® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to give a flight experience that makes you feel like you are flying a much larger airplane. The optional SAFE Select offers a bank angle limiter and automatic self-leveling that can be switched on and off with a switch! And if you don't want to activate the SAFE Select function, just bind the receiver normally and only AS3X is active.
Smart technology
The Habu SS 70mm EDF is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum ™ Avian ™ Smart Lite controller that can provide a variety of real-time telemetry data from the drive system. Motor speed, current, battery voltage and more - from smart and non-smart batteries - can be sent via compatible receivers (including AR631) to transmitters equipped with Spektrum AirWare ™ (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2 / 3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX20 and others).
Versatile power
The factory installed Spektrum ™ Avian ™ 70-Amp Smart Lite controller and powerful brushless outrunner can power the 10-blade 70mm impeller with a variety of batteries. Use a 4S 3200mAh battery for a lot of speed and thrust, a 5S battery for additional power or a 6S battery with up to 4000mAh for almost unlimited vertical climb performance and flight speeds of up to 160 kmh in descent!
Uniquely optimized
Jets are typically faster and harder to fly than most of their propeller-driven counterparts, which can create difficulties for inexperienced pilots - and sometimes experienced pilots - to fly them. The Habu SS's unique and optimized aircraft design improves handling at low airspeeds, making it one of the easiest jets to fly ever!
More resilient
The lightweight, yet durable, EPO airframe has been reinforced to handle more power, higher speeds and higher forces in aerobatics. An excellently visible color scheme is applied at the factory.
Robust chassis
The wide track tripod landing gear with steerable nose wheel provides great ground handling for easier takeoffs and landings on a variety of surfaces from paved runways to grass. The lower profile wheels / tires offer a sleeker look and less drag, or you can mount the optional oversized tires (sold separately) for operation on an even wider variety of surfaces, including higher lawn. Or you can omit the landing gear for more speed and vertical climb performance, as well as easy hand launches and landings on grass.
Easy construction
The Habu SS 70mm EDF is largely pre-assembled at the factory with the drive system, servos and receiver installed (only BNF ® Basic Version). All you have to do is do a quick and easy final assembly without the use of glue or special tools, and you'll be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery!
