The latter cannot be optimised without worldÕs best practice existing in the former and so I have expressed a range of thoughts for the coach working at the developmental layers of sport and physical activity.

Over the last decade I have been honoured to meet with and share with a large group of teachers, coaches and administrators worldwide (through workshops, lectures and courses) who form the backbone of support to all those young people who are committed to the journey from Ôwell-being through to Ôhigh performance sportÕ. I have tried to summarise the information in some sections into a list of what the coach might need in their ÔtoolboxÕ. A ÔtoolboxÕ that might act as a (a) a framework or checklist (b) guidance on the order of things as the training program is prescribed to the athlete.
