#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - The compelling, inspiring, and comically sublime story of one man's coming-of-age, set during the twilight of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed NAMED ONE OF PASTE'S BEST MEMOIRS OF THE DECADE - NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY Michiko Kakutani, New York Times - USA Today - San Francisco Chronicle - NPR - Esquire - Newsday - Booklist Trevor Noah's unlikely path from apartheid South Africa to the desk of The Daily Show began with a criminal act: his birth. Trevor was born to a white Swiss father and a black Xhosa mother at a time when such a union was punishable by five years in prison. Living proof of his parents' indiscretion, Trevor was kept mostly indoors for the earliest years of his life, bound by the extreme and often absurd measures his mother took to hide him from a government that could, at any moment, steal him away. Finally liberated by the end of South Africa's tyrannical white rule, Trevor and his mother set forth on a grand adventure, living openly and freely and embracing the opportunities won by a centuries-long struggle. Born a Crime is the story of a mischievous young boy who grows into a restless young man as he struggles to find himself in a world where he was never supposed to exist. It is also the story of that young man's relationship with his fearless, rebellious, and fervently religious mother--his teammate, a woman determined to save her son from the cycle of poverty, violence, and abuse that would ultimately threaten her own life. The stories collected here are by turns hilarious, dramatic, and deeply affecting. Whether subsisting on caterpillars for dinner during hard times, being thrown from a moving car during an attempted kidnapping, or just trying to survive the life-and-death pitfalls of dating in high school, Trevor illuminates his curious world with an incisive wit and unflinching honesty. His stories weave together to form a moving and searingly funny portrait of a boy making his way through a damaged world in a dangerous time, armed only with a keen sense of humor and a mother's unconventional, unconditional love. Praise for Born a Crime "Compelling . . . By turns alarming, sad and funny, Trevor Noah's] book provides a harrowing look, through the prism of Mr. Noah's family, at life in South Africa under apartheid. . . . Born a Crime is not just an unnerving account of growing up in South Africa under apartheid, but a love letter to the author's remarkable mother."--Michiko Kakutani, The New York TimesBinding Type: Paperback

Cute, functional, and well-made
I've had this for a while, and would actually like a larger one too for my laptop. This is very well made, with durable fabric, strong zippers and great padding. I can easily fit my Galaxy Tab S9 in its protective case in the padded section inside, my old Kindle Oasis with cover in the zipper sleeve outside, my Galaxy S23 Ultra, also in its case in the slim magnetic pocket outside. It also holds my charging cords, adapter and earbuds in the case. It fits a lot and is not bulky and easily slips into a tote. I'm glad I picked this up, and when it's not moving around, it's useful just for storing cords and accessories.

Looks sturdy and well-made - waiting to use
Not using this yet, but from examining it, this laptop sleeve appears sturdy and durable. The padded protection looks solid for keeping a MacBook safe.
The design is versatile - works as a carrying case or travel bag. The handle is convenient, and it's lightweight despite the protective padding.
Based on build quality and appearance, this looks like a reliable laptop sleeve. Highly recommend for MacBook owners!

Fits 11” iPad Air with keyboard case
Was looking for something that could hold not just my 11” iPad Air, but also hold it while in its keyboard case with flash sticks and storage for plugs and such. This fits everything perfectly, has good padding, storage pockets inside and out, and feels like a quality build.

Fits in purse without a lot of bulk
I ordered this to use as a travel cross-stitch case on the recommendation of someone else. Surprise, surprise - It doesn’t work as a travel cross-stitch case! (I either shouldn’t have listened or I got the wrong kind).
However, I do have a iPad and it ended up working great for that so I didn’t return it. Padding is good; everything fits; easy to use with a nice handle; the zipper is smooth; color is neutral; doesn’t add a lot of bulk so it’s easy to fit in my bag; provides extra protection although I don’t really need that; seams and stitching are holding up well to everyday use and it wipes clean.
While it doesn’t work for my sewing while traveling, it does work everyday for “work”. So, don’t get this for sewing, but for your iPad (the actual intended purpose!!); for that purpose it works well. My mistake ended up being a plus and the price was good.
