James Joyce: A Critical IntroductionOne of the first books to sum up the contribution of James Joyce, this volume remains an essential guide to the works of a great innovator of modern literature. One of the first books to sum up the contribution of James Joyce, this volume remains an essential guide to the works of a great innovator of modern literature. Harry Levin's view is large, as opposed to the many necessary exegeses and close textual studies, and he leads the reader easily into the delights to be found in Joyce, from the comparatively simple prose of Dubliners, through Ulysses and into the complexities of Finnegans Wake. The insight and brilliance of this "critical introduction," first published by New Directions in 1941, make it as rewarding for the expert as for the student. For this revised edition, Mr. Levin, who is Irving Babbitt Professor of Comparative Literature at Harvard, has made revisions and added a new preface and a long "postscript" which he calls "revisiting Joyce." He examines the works that have come to light in the last few years and some of the important later biographical and critical writings about Joyce.

Works Well, Easy to Clean, Just Watch Stove Temp
Color: Linen Gray
I bought this set to replace a stainless steel set I have after the nickel in the stainless steel cookware starting leeching into my food and causing some pretty severe reactions. I made sure to read the instructions that came with this ceramic-coated cookware before use, and made a note to not heat it on high - I have cast iron for that anyway. I appreciate how light weight this cookware is, and how easy it is to clean with soap and water - I don't put my cookware in the dishwasher. So far it appears to work well making sauces, heating vegetables, cooking pasta, but I do have to plan a little extra time to get water to boil, of course. One thought for the designers - it would be helpful if the lids fit more than 1 pot. It would be nice, for instance, for the large pot lid to fit the large skillet for sauces that need to simmer and/or reduce for a while. Overall, this cookware is an extremely good value and I'd purchase it again.
