The characters in Bear Down, Bear North are salt-tongued fishermen, fisherwomen, and hunters, scrappy storytellers who put themselves in the path of destruction--sometimes a harsh snowstorm, sometimes each other--and live to tell the tale. While backtrolling for kings on the Kenai River or filleting the catch of the Halibut Hellion with marvelous speed, these characters recount the gamble they took that didn't pay off, or they expound on how not only does Uncle Too-Soon need a girlfriend, the whole state of Alaska needs a girlfriend. A story like "The Mannequin at Soldotna" takes snapshots: a doctor tends to an injured fisherman, a man covets another man's green fishing lure, a girl is found in the river with a bullet in her head. Another story offers an easy moment with a difficult mother, when she reaches out to touch a breaching whale. This is a book about taking a fishhook in the eye, about drinking cranberry lick and Jippers and smoking Big-Z cigars. cute, wish there was more character growth but definitely sweet

Serenity was abused by her parents when she presented as an omega and sold off to someone who starved, assaulted and made her do questionable things while he waited for her heat to come. In a desperate attempt at getting free she was able to run away and was hit with a pack who ended up being a scent match.
While this story was sweet I wanted to see some development of Serenity and Remy’s characters. Serenity was abused and forced to do things from an alpha’s bark, I wanted to see her growth from that but it was basically night and day. Same with Remy, he just miraculously had an aha moment and that was it.
Overall a sweet story.

Start to finish, I was hooked. The imagery, the emotion, the drama, and the real world application all linked perfectly together with the healing power of love, and compassion. Fun, Easy Read

A really fun, easy read! The main character was really likeable, and the male main characters were engaging and fun.
Is this book going to change your life or reinvent literature? No. Is it an enjoyable read free from distracting errors that I plowed through in an afternoon? Yes.

Knotty Omegas series is a work of art!!

A.J. Shirley has done it again. I was hesitant to read this book because of the premise of omegaverse, but I loved Shirley's Aegis Saga so much that I decided to give this a try. I finished it faster than any other book I've ever read. I fell in love with Serenity, her sharp wit, her creativity, and her ability to hope and love despite her horrible past. I loved witnessing her healing journey. Her chemistry and connection with the pack made my heart race. The men were incredibly lovable and snuggly. And the spice was SPICY. Buckle up.

Knot their style

So I really enjoyed the story. I don’t really like dark omegaverse, surprisingly from the themes it did not go Dark. Instead, it stayed sweet. I like Serenity, you can tell just by the first scene that she was a fighter. She had to save her own life. Once she did save her own life she gets hit by a car. So then Pack Rhodes saves her life, I mean what do you do with a unconscious abused omega that you may or may not have hit with your car. Take her home of course. Loved this book and cant wait for the next one
