This is the Special Hard cover edition of Illustrators with Paul Kirchner cover plus signed and numbered bookplate by Paul. Each edition is limited to just 120 copies of which only 100 will be for sale to the public.
We meet head on with the surrealistic comics of Paul Kirchner who tells us about his years in New York, assisting Wally Wood, being at Neal Adam's Manhattan Art Studio, and working for some disreputable publishers.
We meet Gary Gianni, a modern master whose work still seems to emanate from the Golden Age of Illustration. From Solomon Kane to The Shadow, Prince Valiant to The Game of Thrones, we celebrate this amazing versatile artist.
Finally we rediscover the endearing and enduring British comic strip Flook and its artist Wally Fawkes, better known as Trog.
More like a book than a magazine, illustrators is the art quarterly devoted to the finest illustration art ever published. With its unique blend of art and insight, it guides you through the stories behind the artists and their art, with features written by some of the leading authorities on this important art form.
As well as building into an indispensable reference library, illustrators gives readers an insight into the creative process, from the initial idea to the image potentially seen by millions.
Truly fabulous artwork abounds in every issue, much of the art taken from scans of the original work. A Book Palace Books publication.
