The Doomed Bird of Providence's third album Burrowed Into The Soft Sky follows the acclaimed Will Ever Pray (2011) and Blind Mouths Eat (2013). On this occasion, they have discarded Mark Kluzek's vocals in favor of two twenty-minute instrumentals that continue Kluzek's obsessive and singular foray into early colonial history, while also being a significant departure in terms of approach. The underlying themes for each track are contrasting yet tie together via their historical context; a period where indigenous Australian belief systems and day-to-day lives were irrevocably assaulted. The song "Burrowed Into The Soft Sky" is based on a passage from Patrick White's novel Voss (1957). The book is very loosely based on the final journey through the northern regions of Australia by explorer Ludwig Leichardt. Kluzek took a passage from the book where a comet passes over and Voss, his team, and a tribe of Australian Aboriginals engage with and interpret the experience until it is "burrowed into the soft sky". "The Blood Dimmed Tide Is Loosed" takes a significantly darker turn, shining a light on a pattern of atrocity that took place in the north east of Australia at a time where a dynamic of back-and-forth, invariably initiated by colonists, took place, culminating in a "dispersal" of a tribe.

Basic, Profound, and Thorough
Format: Paperback
I'm a deliverance minister and walk people through forgiveness exercises on a regular basis because of the spiritual freedom that comes with forgiveness. This book is basic but very thorough and covers all the high-level points on the importance of forgiveness without getting into the weeds. Book is thin; not overwhelming to non-readers.

Excellent book!
This is the best book on forgiveness that I’ve ever read. Only read this if you are serious about working through unforgiveness and bitterness. I learned that it is okay to have boundaries and limitations, but first you must forgive.

Buy more than one! Shareable!
Format: Paperback
This is a small book and a quick read, but don’t let that fool you. It’s packed with truths that will encourage the reader to forgive those that have wronged them. This book was required reading for a class I took. After reading it, I decided to buy several copies to give to friends.
What you’ll learn: When someone offends us we often feel we have a right to an apology, and perhaps we do. We might even want revenge. But what we don’t realize is that unforgiveness only hurts the one offended. It’s like filling a cup with poison for your offender and then drinking it yourself. You become poisoned by your own hurt, anger, thoughts or words against that person. When we refuse to forgive, we become enslaved to bitterness, and bitterness can take root in our mind, spirit, and body. We become sick.
When we forgive, we release the offender from blame, or forgive their debt to us. We leave the situation (or revenge) in God’s hands, and we move on. The result is freedom!
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Matthew 6:14
