Summer is here again, and that means another shining Total compilation from Kompakt. Spread over two CDs, this is the ninth Total, and it marks 15 years of enduring music from Cologne's hardest-working label. 15 years ago, Kompakt came together as a partnership between techno musicians Michael Mayer, Wolfgang Voigt (aka Gas, Mike Ink, M: I:5), Jürgen Paape, and Reinhard Voigt initially as a record shop that today boasts pretty much every service a musician could ever dream of. From their in-house record labels (Kompakt, K2, Kom Ex/Speicher and Kompakt Pop), record shop (digital and physical), distribution hub for over 50 exclusive worldwide labels, recording studios, booking/management agency and so much more, Kompakt strives to keep to it's DIY roots by putting music first - something that is most certainly reflected on this double platter of joyfulness called Total 9. Total 9 looks back at the best musical moments of the past year and looks forward to the future, with some exclusive music you will only find here from the likes of the dynamic duo Supermayer, Jörg Burger aka the Modernist, Freiland (the post-Studio Eins series by Wolfgang Voigt), Kompakt fav Thomas Fehlmann, the always-classic Jürgen Paape, Hamburg's revolutionary and hotly-tipped DJ Koze, electronic disco-master Justus Köhncke, and more. And, if you haven't been regularly stocking your DJ case, you'll find CD versions of Kompakt's usual roster of limited releases that includes tunes from Japan's gentle dub technician, Kaito, Matias Aguayo's catchy "Minimal" that is everything but minimal, a Krautdisco hymn from Partial Arts as well as a dark, soulful number by Gui Boratto, and oh so much more. This year, as well as the past 15 years has seen Kompakt just grow and grow and grow. Total 9 invites you to dive into it all and enjoy one of the most diverse Totals your ears have ever heard. Other artists include Super pitcher vs. The Congosound, Alison Degbe, Burger/Voigt, Dubshape, Jonas Bering, Robert Babicz, Nightguy, the Rice Twins, Nicolas Stefan, Scsi-9, and Maxime Dangles.

Thus is Great
They so far are indestructible in the jaws of my two large German Shepards.
To be fair, this is NOT a ball to toss because it seems to be more in the cannonball family than in the soft dog toy world.
Each of my pups love their Monster K9 balls but when they drop it on our hardwood floors, the whole household knows where they are.

Great toy but never received the replacement they offer.
It’s is a very durable toy. But not indestructible. My dog loves the ball and it did last 4 months which is much longer than any of his other toys. I emailed the company to see if they honored their one time replacement policy for Amazon orders. I was told they do and was told I was shipped a replacement. But we never received it. We’ve ordered plenty from Amazon before and after this so I don’t know where the hold up would of happened but here we are. I did email the company back and told them that I didn’t receive the replacement and asked if they could verify my address….but they haven’t responded. Just sucks. Would of been great if I actually got the replacement!

My HEAVY chewers favorite ball
It's dense and has some weight to it, can definitely get good distance when throwing and it bounces a long way. It's soft enough for my dog to chew on but tough enough that even with her destroying every toy I get her she looses these before ever tearing into them. About softball size.

Safe
I normally don't write reviews but these products deserve the effort! I bought 4 different black toys from this Brand and all are still intact after 6 months heavy usage by 2 aggressive chewers (a Belg Malinois & black Lab), fantastic products and unlike so many other brands promising to be indestructible, these are the first toys that were not eaten within a month. No more visits to Vet to pay for Xrays after digesting plastic or rubber from badly made toys. Highly recommended.
