SKF - Fork Mud Scraper
SKF, a pioneer in wheel bearings and seal technology, is a leading supplier of wheel hub seals for truck and car applications. This experience has now been applied to the motorcycle industry, where design, compounding and manufacturing of seals has been brought to a new level. SKF’s Fork Mud Scraper for motorcycles is a state of the art addition to this product line that meets the demanding application requirements head on.
SKF developed Fork Mud Scraper to reduce seal contamination under severe conditions. The design characteristics of the mud scraper kit promote dynamic sealing abilities. The kit includes two mud scrapers and stainless steel assembly pins plus spares. Under extremely muddy conditions, the mud scraper prevents dirt entering the fork and promotes the performance of the other fork components. It has special features to ensure that contamination is not retained within the system and developed to specific customer requirements. These SKF scrapers are designed to operate with a long stroke and at high speed in order to withstand heavy contamination; for easy assembly when needed for muddy conditions and for easy removal (and later re-use) when the contamination is not severe
SKF Fork Mud Scraper advantages feature:
- Reduced wear
- Increased fork seals life and performance
- Effectively cleans dried mud from the stanchion
- Enhanced water and dirt protection
- Withstands UV light
- Low and constant friction
- User friendly assembly, can be installed “in-field” without fork or wheel removal
- Enhanced performance of the fork due to reduced contamination seen by the fork seals
