The Ascent 1 is a 1+ person tent that is built to handle rugged 3-season weather conditions. It is one of the first tents in Australia with a tent fly featuring Stealth Seam Welding Technology.

Stealth Seam Welding Technology

This cutting-edge technique combines ultrasonic edge-joining with high frequency radio welding of tape seals, making the seam up to 42% stronger than a standard twin needle taped seam. The weld will provide water tightness for the life of the tent fly, unlike a taped seam, which generally does not. Until now this technology has only been available on heavy fabrics.

Easy to set-up

Like all Domex tents, the hub frame design means that the tent is quick and easy for one person to set up and being free-standing gives flexibility to erect the tent in all types of terrain, with the option of moving site before pegging the tent down.

Inner tent

The lower portion of the inner tent uses breathable double Ripstop Nylon panels for durability and the upper section has fine mesh panels for increased ventilation while keeping insects out.

Other features

The Ascent 1 is packed with features including a Ripstop Nylon tent floor, air vents for increased airflow and less condensation, generous vestibule space, three storage pockets plus a lantern hook.

Why is it a good idea to use a Footprint?

We recommend using the footprint that matches this tent (an optional accessory) to protect your tent floor. It will also make packing up easier and quicker. Any mud and debris will be confined to the footprint, meaning a quick wipe down of the condensation on the bottom of the tent floor is all that is required before rolling the tent up.

Features:

  • Easy to set-up - the hub-dome design with its inter-connected pole sections enables quick and easy set-up by one person.
  • Free-standing design - gives flexibility in sites with vegetation, uneven, wet or rocky terrain. Because the tent supports itself once the poles are inserted, it is able to be shifted easily (by one person) before it is pegged.
  • Colour-coded webbing and pole tips - ensure correct matching of poles, inner tent and tent fly when setting up the tent.
  • Easily-identifiable points - fluro webbing and zip toggles on inner tent plus luminous-fleck on outside zip, guylines and peg loops allow for easy identification in poor light conditions.
  • Tent fly with Stealth Seam Welding Technology – strong, watertight seam will maximize the lifetime of the tough ripstop nylon fly.
  • Tent fly air vents - increases airflow and reduce condensation. They can easily be closed if necessary.
  • Inner tent has a combination of mesh and nylon panels - achieves a balance between ventilation and durability. Mesh keeps sandflies, mosquitos and other insects out.
  • 2 vestibules - provide generous gear storage space outside the inner tent. They also provide extra weather protection and allow better airflow and ventilation.
  • Inner tent storage – 3 pockets ( 2 wall and 1 roof) + hanging lantern hook.
  • Optional footprint – protects the tent floor and makes packing up much easier, quicker and cleaner.

18 months later
Style: H-shape, Size: 38 inch
Legs seem decently thick. They could be a little sturdier. The paint has stayed with no chips or flakes. Color has not faded. It sits at the perfect height for a desk. Screws and hardware do the job. No welds to speak of, everything screws together. I’ve used these for a year and a half as a school desk and has held up well. I took a sheet of project board with stain and polyurethane as my top. Works excellent

Very sturdy legs!
Style: Zig Zag, Size: 28 inch, Style: Zig Zag, Size: 28 inch
The legs are very well built and good looking, however, the screws included for installation are only 9/16" long which is not nearly enough for table legs of this size. I installed the legs on a 30" x 83" live edge oak tabletop that is full 2" thick. I purchased 1 1/4" screws for the install making the table very solid.

Good and attractive with a few finish issues.
Style: Zig Zag, Size: 28 inch
These are attractive and functional and work well. Some of the welds were not as precise as I would have liked, and a few places (not conspicuous) are missing a little of the finish, but overall they do what they're supposed to do. I used them with a butcherblock counter top to create a desk for my office.
