The Taiheiki: A Chronicle of Medieval JapanAn epic saga of samurai warfare in medieval Japan This celebrated literary classic has delighted generations of Japanese. In its pages, you will find a vivid contemporary description of the fourteenth century intrigues and battles that led to the destruction of the Hojo family, the military overlords of the nation, and made it possible for the Emperor Go Daigo (1288 1339), one of Japan's most remarkable sovereigns, to reassert the power of the throne.
An epic saga of samurai warfare in medieval Japan This celebrated literary classic has delighted generations of Japanese. In its pages, you will find a vivid contemporary description of the fourteenth-century intrigues and battles that led to the destruction of the Hojo family, the military overlords of the nation, and made it possible for the Emperor Go-Daigo (1288-1339), one of Japan's most remarkable sovereigns, to reassert the power of the throne. Go-Daigo's first hesitant attempts to overthrow the Hojo, the early defeats suffered by his supporters, his dethronement and exile, the legendary exploits of his generals, the growing strength of his arms, and his ultimate return to the throne are all recounted in engrossing detail. The anonymous authors of The Taiheiki diversify their narrative through the skillful use of the rich treasure house of the Chinese dynastic histories, the verse of the Six Dynasties and T'ang, and the Confucian teachings underlying the strict warrior code of loyalty and filial piety. They write with a deep sense of the inevitability of karma--determined fate and the impermanence of man and his works--but the spirit of the age is reflected in their praise of valor and military prowess, their taste for descriptions of the trappings of war, and their frequent irreverent asides. Considered a part of the gunki monogatari, or war tales canon in Japan, The Taiheiki celebrates martial adventure and can be seen as a prose counterpart to the Homeric epics of the Iliad and the Odyssey.Binding Type: Paperback

Exactly what I needed for traveling!
This Amazon Basics Travel Passport Wallet Organizer is amazing value for the price. It has multiple easily accessible slots & pockets that can be used for credit cards, boarding passes, receipts, pens, and currencies if traveling internationally. The wallet has a zipper which can safely secure folded documents such as immunization records, marriage certificates, and citizen forms if needed. The functional design is larger than I anticipated and the material feels well-made, solid, and looks nice. I could not fit the wallet in my pocket, but it easily fits into a backpack or purse. If I happen lose this or misplaced this one, I will be purchasing this again.

Great Hold-All
This seems to be well-made and I like the configuration. It should hold passport, ID, credit cards, cash and any travel docs with no problem. It is a bit larger than I expected, however, so that will have an impact on what sort of purse, belt bag, or etc. I use to carry it. My biggest issue with this and ANY RFID blocking wallets/purses/etc. is that I wish the manufacturers would add a sewn in tag or imprint on the product itself that SAYS it's RFID blocking. After time goes buy it gets hard to remember which items in your travel stash are or aren't. I've used a Sharpie to mark this one, but it would be nice if the manufacturer did so professionally.
