Have you grown dahlias for the first time this year but are unsure how to lift, store, divide and save them?

Maybe you saved your dahlias last year but realized too late that they shriveled and dried up, or rotted, or got eaten by mice?

Wondering if you should store them in peat moss, wood shavings, or plastic wrap or some other medium?

Do you just want to hang out with other flower lovers and gardeners, and find out how to get the most eyes out of a clump that you can?

Join us this fall for an intimate 90 minute workshop on dividing and storing dahlias!  The workshop will be held in Monroe at New Petal Flower Farm, just a 10 minute drive from Easton, Weston and minutes from Redding and Newtown!  Spots are limited due to space so don’t wait to reserve your spot!

Participants will go home with a brand new pair of our favorite floral shears - our go-to tool for dividing tough dahlia tubers and cutting stems during the warm season, plus clear written instructions.   Participants will also take home 5 mystery tubers from New Petal Farm. We grow only the most coveted varieties, so these tubers could be worth their weight in gold, but just lost a label.

Don’t have any dahlias to divide? No problem! We have plenty of tuber clumps for you to practice on.

Warm cider & tea will be served.  Please dress warmly, in cloths that you won’t mind getting dirty and shoes that can handle some mud!  Property terrain is uneven.  More details will be emailed after purchase of tickets.

We can’t wait to see you there!

***Please note dahlia workshop tickets are non-refundable. Once you purchase this workshop, you commit to attending as well as to the potential rain dates.  You are welcome to pass your spot off to a friend if you notify us at least 48 hrs in advance, if you can’t come.***

Format: Board book
What a sweet story! Both my 20 month old and my 3.5 year old love this book. Now whenever they see a banana they say “silly banana” or “sweet banana”! It is a favorite in our house!!

Cute Concept but a Little Abstract for Younger Kids
Format: Board book
The illustrations are bright and friendly and the board book format is sturdy, so it holds up well with little hands flipping pages a bit aggressively. The rhyming flows okay, not perfect poetry but not awkward either. That said, the concept might be a little abstract for very young kids depending on their age. Mine liked the pictures but didn’t fully connect the idea without explanation, so it ended up being more of a guided read than an independent “get it right away” story. It feels like a good conversation starter book rather than a quick bedtime read you can breeze through half asleep. Still cute, just something to be aware of depending on your kid.

A Book That Made the Moon Extra Special
Format: Board book, Format: Board book
This book has quickly become a favorite in our home. Our daughter absolutely loves the playful idea of the moon looking like a banana, and how many bananas come together to make a full moon. Since reading it, she gets so excited pointing out both bananas and the moon, and it’s been amazing to see her make that connection. It’s her first choice every morning and every evening at story time. The concept is simple, imaginative, and perfectly suited for young children. It’s become a cherished part of our daily routine, and we highly recommend it.

BEAUTIFUL 💫
Format: Board book
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My daughter understood the phases of the moon so much better after reading this story. My ABA students also really enjoyed it — it’s simple, unique, and wonderfully engaging all at once. The book is beautifully written, nicely illustrated, and truly touched my heart. I highly recommend it to parents and teachers alike! 🌙💫
