The tale goes on to tell of a school teacher named Ichabod Crane. After a social gathering, Ichabod traveled back to Sleepy Hollow, when he had a terrifying encounter with the Headless Horseman. The Horseman threw his pumpkin head at Ichabod. What happened to Ichabod is unknown to this day. Though with such a powerful haunting tale attached to it, it’s no surprise why so many kids show up as the Headless Horseman at Halloween costume parties every year.
