The Leica EVF 2 is a detachable electronic viewfinder designed for select Leica digital cameras equipped with an EVF-compatible accessory port (e.g., Leica M Typ 240, X2, X Vario, and others).

It features a 1.4-million dot resolution LCD display with 100% frame coverage, offering a sharp and detailed live view for precise framing and focus assessment, particularly under bright lighting conditions where LCD use may be impractical.

The refresh rate and response time are optimized for fluid real-time display, and it supports diopter adjustment to accommodate different eyesight needs. The unit is built into a 90° tilting housing, allowing for flexible shooting angles—from eye-level to waist-level or overhead perspectives.

Connection to the host camera is made via the Leica accessory port, with power and data supplied directly by the camera—no internal battery is required. 

The EVF 2 replicates exposure, white balance, and depth-of-field settings in real time, enabling accurate preview of final image output. It also supports focus magnification and focus peaking (when enabled by the host camera), useful for manual focus precision.

Compatible cameras automatically recognize and activate EVF mode upon attachment. The accessory is designed to match the camera body aesthetics and maintains Leica’s signature understated design language.
