John R. Neumann’s collection, Thoughts Simply in Poetry, touches on the vast array of emotions and thoughts that travel through the mind. Love, loss, and philosophy all manifest within this collection. Poems range the subjects of the human experience, from the joy of family to the heartache of dementia. Page-to-page is a unique, inspiring read. Like a great exhale, Neumann compiles the thoughts and emotions that are so tangled in our minds, and expresses them for readers, simply and in poetry.

About the Author

John R. Neumann was born and raised in Iowa—the country’s heartland. He had an idyllic childhood, filled with memories of his two brothers and parents. They filled their time with sports, fishing, hunting, traveling, and enjoying time together as a family. Having experienced the Great Depression, his parents instilled in the Neumann brothers to reach higher and go beyond what was expected. They also encouraged their children to seek higher education which they could not, and inspired John to write.

Neumann is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in physical education. He later received an M.A. from Northwest Missouri State University in history. He taught history and social studies for twenty-seven years. He was also an active sports coach during that time.

Now retired, Neumann enjoys college sports, watching old movies, traveling, walking, sharing time with friends, and of course, thinking and writing.

Another flop from Marvel Star Wars
Format: Paperback
Potentially one of the worst comics since the marvel acquisition - the plot is dull and confusing, the dialogue is terrible, and the art is extremely hit or miss. I was really looking forward to this series before it came out, and for any Star Wars fans, you will likely be disappointed like I was.

Not what I wanyed
Format: Paperback
I have nothing against this comic. The simple fact of the matter is that I ordered this by mistake and when I returned it for a refund, Amazon has refused to give me a refund so I'm mostly mad about that. Th comic overall seemed fine, again I have nothing against it and hardly know what it's even about. The art is a bit medicore however, nothing special or particularly ugly, just kinda meh. That's all I really got to say about it.

Thrilling Battles, Exciting Storyline & Cinema Quality Artwork
Format: Kindle
Wow! What a series. I had several friends recommended the Vader comic and they were right. It's an exceptional undertaking. Cinema quality artwork and an excellent storyline worthy of a novel. I finally picked up this Vader Down edition to find out what happened in between the first main Vader series. It does not disappoint. Vader is trapped on a world while searching for Like Skywalker and surrounded by rebel forces. This being Vader, a Dark Lord of the Sith, poses no problem. It features one of the best lines, "I am surrounded by fear. And dead men." He takes out three entire squads of rebel troops before confronting an Imperial ambush. Dr. Alpha and her murderous droids face off against Han Solo. Good vs bad Wookie fights and droid fights also add to the fray. A must read for Star Wars fans. Thrilling storyline and gorgeous artwork (I love how the characters look like the actors) make this a worthy addition to your comic collection. Magnificent.

Excellent, musst-read crossover story!
Format: Paperback
Jason Aaron is hands-down one of my favorite comic book writers. The characters in his Star Wars books in particular 'sound' exactly like they do on screen, which is a tough thing to pull off for such a well-loved universe. This series is extremely well put together with beautiful art and coloring. I simply couldn't be happier with the direction that Marvel is taking. The blend of 'familiar', while keeping things unique and fresh is really well done. I also love how Aaron enhances little details from the movies that I never really stopped to think about before, providing satisfying glimpses into the stories we know and love that fit beautifully into canon. This graphic novel in particular tells a fantastic story about Darth Vader's relentless pursuit to figure out who it was that destroyed the Death Star. Seeing the growth of Luke as a character in these early days is also fascinating. Definitely a must-read addition to the Star Wars canon!
