"The History of Modern Furniture challenges all those who prefer the mediocrity of imitation to the great achievements of creative design. Everyone interested in interior design will want Karl Mang's unabashed advocacy of excellence. Man, a working architect, is president of The Austrian Institute of Design."

"He traces the development of furniture from the early nineteenth century to the present day. In an informal and informative way he reappraises the milestones of modern furniture from Thonet's bentwood chairs to Mies van der Rohe's elegant Barcelona chair to Joe C. Colombo's multi-purpose plastic furnishings."

"International in scope, the book gives ample coverage to American Shaker furniture, William Morris's arts-and-crafts movement, Art Nouveau, De Stijl, the Bauhaus, the International Style, Scandinavian furniture, the modern classics manufactured in America by Knoll and Miller, and recent Italian innovations. Excellent, crisply captioned photographs are conveniently keyed to the text."

"Unsurpassed as an overview of 150 years of furniture design, The History of Modern Furniture is also noteworthy as an examination of the domestic landscape in the light of social history and changing life styles. This period saw many and diverse aesthetic and social theories emerge, and many attempts by architects and designers to create furniture and housing for the needs of a rapidly industrializing world."

"From this abundance of new ideas the author has chosen those that have proved to be more than short-lived fashions. A selected bibliography and a complete index enhance the reference value of this provocative volume."

This book includes a bibliography and many examples of work by the following architects and designers: Arne Jacobsen, Le Corbusier, Poul Kjaerholm, Marcel Breuer, Hans Wegner, Charles Eames, Herman Miller, Mies van der Rohe, Bruno Matthson, Florence Knoll,  Isamu Noguchi, Gio Ponti, Eero Saarinen, Frank Lloyd Wright, Finn Juhl, Aalvar Aalto, Harry Bertoia, Richard Neutra,  George Nelson,  O. Nielsen, Olivier Mourgue, Philip Johnson, Joseph Hoffmann, Walter Gropius, Joseph (Josef) maria Olbrich,  Otto Wagner, Gerrit Rietveld, Joseph Frank, Joe Colombo, Henri van der Velde, Michael Thonet, Richard Reimerschmid,  and many others.

Best Blades hands down!
Size: 26" and 16", Style: Pack of 2, Size: 26" and 16", Style: Pack of 2
I purchased the Rain-X WeatherBeater 26” and 16” windshield wiper blade set to replace the factory blades on my vehicle, and installation was straightforward. The included adapters made it easy to get a secure fit, and I had both blades installed in just a few minutes. After several weeks of use, they’ve performed well in both light rain and heavier downpours. The blades make consistent contact across the windshield, leaving very few streaks and improving visibility significantly compared to my old worn-out wipers. They are also relatively quiet, with no noticeable chattering or skipping. One thing I appreciate is the value for the price. While these may not have all the features of premium beam-style blades, they provide reliable performance at a much more affordable cost. Durability remains to be seen over the long term, but so far they have held up well through changing weather conditions. Overall, if you’re looking for a dependable replacement wiper blade set that installs easily and performs as expected, the Rain-X WeatherBeater blades are a solid choice. I’d purchase them again.

Good, reliable wipers.
Size: 24", Style: Pack of 1
I replace my wipers annually, so I don't need to spend a bunch of money on the countless gimmicky wipers that are out there. You used to be able to find Rain-X wipers just about anywhere, but the marketing morons pushing the gimmicky crap have pushed these out of stores. I am please to have found them on Amazon. I am also pleased to find that they are on Subscribe & Save. Most of my vehicles use the same size wipers, so I can buy these throughout the year and replace them when they show up instead of trying to remember when their year is up. I have always liked the performance out of Rain-X wipers. I think they last all year, remaining flexible the whole time and stay silent. That flexibility make them very effective at wiping the windshield. The cost for the wipers was great when they were around $6, but the greedy corporations keep raising prices, so now it much more. I think the value is still there, but the design has not changed. Still good, reliable quality. The size is accurate. The installation is easy. There's instructions if you need them that are easy to follow.

Yes good choice
Size: 22", Style: Pack of 2
Perfect fit and they work great! It's been over a month using these and I would consider purchasing again. The wiper blades on previously looked a little bit more sharp but these outperform them by a long shot.

Rain Wipes
Size: 24" and 19", Style: Pack of 2
Nearly does the trick, where there's a better model option. Wished I had purchase the higher grade model, for this model doesn't wipe as well during moderate and heavy rain. However, for the price I got what I paid for, with my history of this brand, knowing it will have a bit of useable life. It was a fit...Actual replacement. Easy to install. Smooth wipe, for there's no squecking.
