AMACO Potter's Choice | PC-17 Honey Flux

One of our all time best sellers! Honey Flux is a creamy, fluid glaze designed to encourage movement and interaction in layered finishes. At cone 5 it produces opaque honey-cream tones, while at cone 6 it shifts to a more fluid white with warm honey flecks. Excellent for layering over other glazes.

AMACO Potter's Choice glazes are a studio favourite for midfire pottery, offering rich colour, movement and surface variation at cone 5 - 6. Designed to create reduction-style effects in oxidation, this versatile range performs beautifully on both smooth and textured ware, with endless possibilities for layering and glaze combinations. Most colours will also remain stable at higher temperatures.

Key Features:

  • Firing range: Cone 5 - 6.
  • Suitable for brushing or spray application.
  • Great for layering with other glazes.
  • Stunning reduction effects in electric kilns.
  • Variable results depending on application / layering techniques.
  • Food safe when fired correctly.

Application:

  • Mix glaze thoroughly prior to each use.
  • Gently wipe your bisque with a damp sponge to remove any dust or oils. This will help the glaze adhere smoothly.
  • Apply three even coats with a soft bristled fan or hake brush, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next. Alternate the direction of brush strokes on each layer.
  • Glaze may be diluted with water, gum solution or brushing medium if it is thicker than desired or has dried out over time.
  • When layering, be mindful that some glaze combinations may become more fluid and run during firing.

Safety Information:

Tableware producers should test all finished ware to confirm food safety, as results may vary due to firing conditions or surface contamination.

Due to variations in raw materials used during manufacturing, we recommend firing glazed test tiles before using each new batch number of glaze.

Necessary and humorous companion to Pamela
Format: Kindle
After reading Richardson’s novel Pamela, this satire gives at least some perspective to the story as the “other side of the coin” and perhaps tempers the almost unbelievable virtue displayed in Pamela. However, reading these in 2018 with perspective of 250 years of history available to us, they are a good reminder that it’s still a dog eat dog world, as seen through the #metoo movement of 2017. Men in power abusing sex, other men in power blaming women as gold-diggers. Maybe now this ages old tale gets a new ending?

Old and good
Format: Paperback
Not sure how I should apply adjectives to a book that made history. The style belongs to a bygone era; Shamela is fun because it is a satire, and not intended to be great literature.

parodies of a classic
Format: Paperback
In Shamela, Fielding gives us the behind-the-scenes true Hollywood version of Pamela's story (and it's tabloid worthy). In Joseph Andrews, Fielding shares the tale of Pamela's brother caught in the same sort of madcap antics she endured.
