Native to South America, it thrives in bright light with well-draining soil and moderate watering during the growing season, making it a relatively easy species to care for. In spring and summer, it can produce eye-catching yellow flowers that bloom near the crown, adding a cheerful pop of color. When it comes to pets, Notocactus concinnus is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs; however, its spines can still cause physical irritation or minor injury, so it’s best kept in a spot that’s out of reach of curious pets.
