About the Artist

Friedrich Karl Thauer (Germany, 1924–2009) came from a distinguished family of artists. A student of Oskar Kokoschka at the International Academy in Salzburg, he developed a style rooted in the Munich School and Impressionism, with vibrant color palettes and expressive urban and natural landscapes. He exhibited extensively in Switzerland, including Zurich’s “Am Pfauen” gallery, and was honored with the title Cavaliere stella al merito artistico for his artistic contributions. His works have appeared in over 190 public auctions and remain highly collectible among European art enthusiasts.
