Fluent Spanish - Very Advanced Vocabulary for Near Fluent Spanish Learners

This the fourth book in the Spanish Frequency Dictionary series.

This book will allow you to become fluent in Spanish. You will grow your vocabulary from roughly CEFR C1+ up to C2+.

This dictionary is for advanced students who want to learn fluent Spanish.

If you know the 10.000 used words in Spanish, you will have a vocabulary equal to a grown-up native speaker who finished college or university.

You can speak Spanish fluently and express yourself with ease. You can deal with academic or cognitively taxing material.

You can use the Spanish language to a near-native effect, depending on your grammar skills. Your Spanish is at a level that may, in certain aspects, be more advanced than that of an average native speaker.

In technical terms: you will understand 98% of all spoken Spanish and 95% of all written Spanish.

It is unnecessary to read the 1st, 2nd or 3rd book to enjoy this frequency dictionary. That entirely depends on how fluent in Spanish you already are.

You can use this book as a stand-alone course. You can also use it as a supplement to any other language learning method.

Inside this book, you will find:

  • The 7.501-10.000 most common Spanish words, with their English translation(s).
  • Near-fluent Spanish vocabulary, arranged by general frequency and alphabet.
  • Frequency as part of speech. most used adjectives, nouns, verbs, etc.)
  • 2.500 Spanish to English example sentences.
  • Phonetic spelling of Spanish words

Best Way to Become Fluent in Spanish - Study by Frequency

Not all words are created equal. You will use some words more than other words. Learning words by frequency is the best way to become fluent in Spanish.

According to research, this is the amount of vocabulary you need to learn fluent Spanish:

  • 250 words. The core of any language. Without these words, you cannot construct any meaningful sentences. If you know the top 250 words, you know enough to get by as a tourist.
  • 750 words. These essential words you will use every single day at least once. This is the standard vocabulary of someone who is starting to "get it".
  • 2500 words. You need to know this many words to express everything you could possibly want to say. You probably do need some creativity to get more in-depth points across.
  • 5000 words: This is the active vocabulary of native speakers without higher education. You will know 95% of all spoken language and enough to deduce unknown words from context.
  • 10,000 words. The amount of active vocabulary of a native speaker who finished college or university.
  • 20,000 words. If you can recognize about 20.000 words, you can read, understand, and enjoy a work of literature. Think of things such as a novel by a notable author.

What is Inside This Spanish Dictionary?

A list of the 7501-10.000 most frequently used Spanish words, based on subtitles analysis. A large base text collection is necessary to build a solid general frequency list. We analyzed the equivalent of two large libraries full of books to create a reliable frequency list.

Subtitles resemble both written and spoken language. This makes subtitles the best approach for creating a relevant and practical word frequency list.

This Spanish to English frequency dictionary can be divided into three sections.

  • 2.500 Spanish words ranked by their general frequency.
  • A collection of frequency lists by part of speech. We sorted the general frequency list by adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, pronouns, prepositions, nouns, numerals, and verbs.
  • 2.500 Spanish words in alphabetical order.

Spanish pronunciation can be a bit difficult. To aid you in pronouncing Spanish words correctly, we added phonetic transcriptions to each entry. The book uses the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).

so elegant but best for softer foods
Color: Gold, Color: Gold
I am impressed with this gold silverware. I was surprised because they are very light, but they are also elegant. The handles are a little longer than the usual plasticware, so holding them, using them to eat, made me feel like the meal was elevated. These would be perfect at a garden party, a brunch, a fancy picnic. I love that there are equal numbers of knives, forks, and spoons, and they would look beautiful at place settings, or just tossed into glasses for people to grab what they need. My one misgiving about recommending these for any occasion is the knife. It’s just not sharp, and like the other pieces, it is lightweight. It’s great for spreading butter onto a roll and could cut through soft foods like pasta or cake. But any attempt to cut through a piece of meat or a starchy vegetable that’s just lightly cooked will result in the knife snapping in half. But if you’re serving relatively soft foods (brunch would be perfect!), then this is an elegant, easy solution to feed a lot of people while keeping cleanup to a minimum.

Fancy enough for a wedding, easy enough for a backyard party
Color: Gold, Color: Gold
I picked up this 300 Pack Premium Heavy Duty Gold Plastic Silverware set for a recent gathering, and honestly it worked out better than I expected. When you’re hosting a larger group, the last thing you want to worry about is running out of utensils or washing a mountain of dishes afterward, and this set definitely helped with that. First off, the 300-piece set is really convenient. You get 100 forks, 100 spoons, and 100 knives, which made it easy to plan for about 100 guests without having to buy multiple packs. Everything arrived neatly organized in a clear storage box, which actually made it super easy to keep things tidy until party time. The gold metallic finish is surprisingly nice. It gave the table a more polished, elegant look than standard plastic cutlery. I used them for a semi-formal dinner setup, and they blended in well with the decorations instead of looking cheap or out of place. As for durability, they’re definitely heavier than typical disposable utensils. The forks handled pasta and salads just fine, and the knives worked well for softer foods like chicken and cake. They’re not quite the same as real metal silverware, of course, but for plastic they’re pretty sturdy and didn’t snap or bend easily. I also appreciated that they’re BPA-free and disposable, which made cleanup incredibly simple once everything wrapped up. The only small downside is that if you’re cutting tougher foods like steak, you might notice the knives aren’t quite strong enough for that. But for most party foods, buffets, and desserts, they work perfectly well. Overall, this is a great option for parties, weddings, or large dinners when you want something that looks nicer than basic plastic but still want the convenience of disposable utensils. I’d definitely use them again for future events.
