Rector Wreck 'em Sherman was orphaned as a toddler in the Blight of 1863, but that was years ago. Wreck has grown up, and on his eighteenth birthday, he'll be cast out out of the orphanage.

And Wreck's problems aren't merelyabout finding a home. He's been quietly breaking the cardinal rule of any good drug dealer and dipping into his own supply of the sap he sells. He's also pretty sure he's being haunted by the ghost of a kid he used to know--Zeke Wilkes, who almost certainly died six months ago. Zeke would have every reason to pester Wreck, since Wreck got him inside the walled city of Seattle in the first place, and that was probably what killed him.Maybe it's only a guilty conscience, but Wreck can't take it anymore, so he sneaks over the wall.

The walled-off wasteland of Seattle is every bit as bad as he'd heard, chock-full of the hungry undead and utterly choked by the poisonous, inescapable yellow gas. And then there's the monster. Rector's pretty certain that whatever attacked him was not at all human--and not a rotter, either. Arms far too long. Posture all strange. Eyes all wild and faintly glowing gold and known to the locals as simpley The Inexplicables.

In the process of tracking down these creatures, Rector comes across another incursion through the wall--just as bizarre but entirely attributable to human greed. It seems some outsiders have decided there's gold to be found in the city and they're willing to do whatever it takes to get a piece of the pie unless Rector and his posse have anything to do with it.

sweet picture book read
Format: Hardcover
I LOVE DAD WITH THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR is a sweet book of love, written from the perspective of a child to their father. The book uses imagery from other Eric Carle books alongside simple language to describe the connection between father and child, such as "Dad... You are easy to talk to... and you're fun to play with." Ellipses break up sentences across multiple pages, with animals that suit each phrase pictured as parent and child. What I loved: This is a cute and simple read that would be a great gift for a new father or father of a young child, as they can share it together. The short length of the book works well for infants and toddlers, as each page only has a few words. The illustrations are simple, borrowing from past Eric Carle books to maintain his style, and showing the animals most related to the text (for instance, on the page with "but you're still cool" it features polar bears) on a white background. This is a simple style that will work well for little ones. The very hungry caterpillar appears on each page, almost hidden and could make for a fun and easy search for toddlers. Final verdict: Overall, this is a sweet picture book that would make a great gift for new fathers or fathers with young children.

great audio book
Format: Kindle
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed Strangers. It was the perfect length — long enough to get invested in the characters without dragging on. The story felt very relatable and honest about how much people and marriages can change over 20 years. I appreciated how openly it explored growing apart, unmet expectations, and the complicated emotions that come with long-term relationships. That said, while I could understand some of James’s feelings, I personally don’t think I could ever forgive him for walking away from his kids. That part stayed with me long after I finished the book. Overall, an emotional and thought-provoking read that felt very re

Courage with a Dose of Strength
Format: Kindle
I believe this book took a lot of courage to write. To me she did a great job of not showing bitterness just love, confusion, and taking back the power. Belle admitted to her struggles and being knocked off her feet by what happened. She asked the questions and was left with No answers. She picked herself up and proved she was strong. I love that she still believes in her life story. That she still believes in love. But i also admire that she recognized the cycle and is going to break it for her kids. So, hopefully this book will be another way people realize we need to stop shifting the blame do the victim. Put ownership where it belongs. Stop, listen, and be a friend.
