Six Questions Your L & L Hawaiian Barbecue Franchise Pitch Deck Must Answer

We developed this franchise unit pitch deck in Microsoft PowerPoint format based on extensive research into the Hawaiian BBQ sector. Every slide is pre-populated with data specific to this concept, including a Year 1 revenue target of $1,120,000 and a projected 4-year payback period. You can fully edit these figures to reflect your specific territory and real estate costs.

Why now, and what urgent local customer need does this franchise unit address?

The local market is realy saturated with generic fast food, creating a gap for authentic, high-value comfort food that offers a unique flavor profile. This franchise unit addresses the need for exotic yet affordable meal options for time-sensitive professionals and families. Speed and variety are the primary drivers for this location.

Market Demand Drivers

  • Authentic island flavor profile
  • Fast-casual convenience for workers
  • High-value 'Plate Lunch' portions
[dynamic_pic9]

What does this franchise unit offer, and why is its solution meaningfully better than local alternatives?

This unit provides a streamlined dining experience through digital kiosks and a dedicated mobile-ordering lane, significantly reducing wait times. Unlike local competitors, we offer a unique culinary niche that combines protein-heavy plates with traditional island sides. Our tech-forward approach ensures high throughput during peak lunch hours.

Operational Edge

  • Dedicated mobile-ordering pickup lane
  • In-store digital ordering kiosks
  • Proprietary recipes and brand identity
[dynamic_pic10]

Who buys from this franchise unit, and how big is the local opportunity (TAM/SAM/SOM)?

Our primary targets are medical professionals from nearby facilities and young families living in the immediate neighborhood. With a Year 1 revenue projection of $1,120,000, we are tapping into a high-density area with significant daily foot traffic. The local opportunity is supported by recurring catering needs from corporate offices and medical centers.

Target Audience Segments

  • Medical staff seeking quick lunches
  • Families looking for value meals
  • $1.12M projected first-year revenue
[dynamic_pic11]

How does this franchise unit make money, and what are the core revenue streams and unit economics?

Revenue is driven by four main streams: in-store sales, mobile orders, catering contracts, and third-party delivery. Plate Lunch sales are the primary driver, projected at $450,000 in the first year, while BBQ plates contribute another $180,000. Here's the quick math: with a 4% royalty and 2% marketing fee, store-level margins remain healthy if labor is managed tightly.

Financial Drivers

  • $450k Year 1 Plate Lunch sales
  • 4% ongoing royalty fee structure
  • Catering and delivery revenue mix
[dynamic_pic12]

Who are the main local competitors, and what is this franchise unit's defensible edge?

Main competitors include local taco shops and traditional BBQ pits, but they lack our specific Hawaiian flavor profile and speed of service. Our defensible edge is the 'Plate Lunch' concept, which is difficult for generalist restaurants to replicate authentically. Plus, our integration with local medical centers through catering contracts creates a sticky customer base.

Competitive Moat

  • Unique Hawaiian culinary niche
  • High-volume catering partnerships
  • Loyalty program for repeat business
[dynamic_pic13]

How much funding is required, what will the funds be used for, and what milestones will that unlock for the franchise unit?

We require restaurant startup capital to cover a $35,000 franchise fee and approximately $250,000 for leasehold improvements and store build-out. These funds will unlock a fully operational unit with a projected breakeven date in March 2026, just three months after launch. Kitchen equipment and POS systems represent another $165,000 in essential initial investment.

Capital Allocation

  • $250k for store build-out
  • $35k initial franchise fee
  • 3-month target to breakeven

Finance: update unit break-even and payback model by Friday.

A roller coaster ride!
Format: Kindle
Such an emotional story but did really enjoy the town this story was based in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Such a peaceful beautiful town. Molly and Robin were married but split up and had lived apart for seven years. They owned the Hummingbird Inn and Molly came back there to stay for a while but realized Robin had moved back in there earlier. I loved the antics that these two played on one another and you could tell they really still loved one another but both had too much baggage. They were going to sell the Inn split the money and get the divorce but then feelings became involved. I received this ARC from Netgalley for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Heartwarming queer love story
Format: Paperback
I LOVED this book. It’s the most refreshing, queer, lesbian, second chance, finding your way back home story. From almost throwing hands to falling back in love, it was a wonderful journey of reflection in both women and their growth as a couple. It reminds me so much of Columbus ohios gay community and just such a supportive and loving city. My ONE complaint would be that I felt the ending was rushed. It was just like “oh hey I still love you, cancel the sale, done”. I would’ve loved a little more of an ending or even an epilogue. I kinda felt… incomplete at the end which made me sad!

Bed and Breakup
Format: Kindle
Bed and Breakup is a dual POV forced-proximity second chance romance. Estranged wives Molly and Robin both return to the Bed and Breakfast they co-own after seven years apart, each needing to recharge creatively and figure out their next steps. Despite not wanting to cohabitate, they reluctantly agree to work together to refurbish the inn so they can sell it and finally break ties with each other for good. Working in close proximity stirs up memories, the good with the bad, leaving both confused about what next steps to take. This was an enjoyable and well written ARC and I will definitely look for more from this author. This book, though, just wasn’t the right fit for me. I really LOVE second-chance romance, but this book was missing two aspects that draw me to them: I didn’t feel like the reason for the initial breakup was all that forgivable and fully resolved, and usually in second-chance romance you have at least one character working towards the end goal of reconciliation established pretty early on. However, I did love the small town, the many side characters, and the passions Molly and Robin had (artistic and culinary). I would definitely recommend this book even though it wasn’t a perfect fit for me.

a second-chance romance with humor, steaminess, friendship, and love.
Format: Kindle
Going back to where you felt safe and loved to close that chapter and then finding your ex there is beyond complicated. Both Robin and Molly go back to Eureka Springs for reasons other than personal as they both happen to be there for professional reasons too. This makes leaving almost impossible. An opportunity to close their chapter, with some cash too, sends them spiraling towards confrontations, pranks, and some hanky panky. I enjoyed Bed and Breakup. After reading Susie Dumond’s afterword, it was nice knowing that a place like Eureka Springs actually exists. Where people can exist in harmony and be celebrated for who they are - everyone. The banter is fun even when there is a trace of anger and pain. I think because you know this is a romance and nowadays, they usually come with a happy ending, you know this too shall pass. Dumond does make you rethink a prank though. Holy sugar. I will confess that the first one would give me the heebie-jeebies too. The chemistry is good, and the details are in even better 😆. I think it does kind of suck that they were both with other partners while still being married, but I guess that’s real life. It’s just weird to be thinking in the middle of things, “oh that’s new, she must have learned that while boinking someone else.” It kind of brings an ick factor into it. There is something missing for me on Robin’s side. We get to see Molly’s reaction all of the time to Robin’s cooking and artistry in the kitchen. Robin sees Molly’s work once. We never see her walking down the street after the installation of the three storefronts that Molly did and have her admire them or be in awe. Molly researched Robin’s restaurants and talked to her artist to artist. Robin didn’t even bother. She just wanted her to work on the inn even when things were going well for them. It felt like she never really respected Molly’s artistry. Where was the caring when Molly sliced up her hands trying to get the jimmies just right on the donuts in the window? I don’t know, it just seemed very one sided. I love the diverse secondary cast. I love Key and how she is represented in this book. She checks everyone all of the time and reminds them that she is a proud Black woman. She’s striving to make the town stronger and for businesses to grow for her community. I love this. I hope Dumond goes back to Eureka and writes Key’s love story. She’s feisty, loyal, artistic, and strong. I adore her. Heck, I’d date her. Bed and Breakup is a second-chance romance with humor, steaminess, friendship, and love. I loved escaping to Eureka Springs. Add this one to your beach bag for a good time.

Poignant Account
Format: Kindle
Fascinating account of a young woman's journey through two years of bleakness and danger in Canada's tar sands. I was drawn to this graphic novel because of its unusual subject matter and was impressed with its depth and insights -- just who is that is drawn to these places and this kind of life and why? It was even darker than expected as well as one more argument to end fossil fuels -- not only for their contribution to climate change, but because of the extreme damage they do to the environment and to the people who work in this industry and those who live nearby. A beautifully honest work of art.
