His performances continued to improve, with multiple 20+ point per game seasons and a career-high 39-point performance against the Celtics in 1999. Even in a struggling Grizzlies team, he was the franchise’s undisputed star. His skill and leadership would later earn him a spot on the 2001 NBA All-Star Team with the Atlanta Hawks.
