Douglas was a member of The Chelsea Arts Club in London, England. His style is often referred to as "painterly," artistically he is a lyric realist. His paintings, which not only include polo, but landscapes, figurative renderings, seascapes and portraits as well, are reminiscent of the painters celebrated at the turn of the century.
