The Tamiya 1/350 Musashi Japanese Battleship 2013 Edition (78031) reproduces the sister ship of the mighty Yamato — the IJN Musashi that was the second and final ship of the Yamato class and shared her sister's designation as the largest and most heavily armed battleship ever built. Musashi was sunk during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944, hit by an extraordinary concentration of US carrier aircraft — believed to be between 17 and 20 torpedo and bomb hits before she finally capsized. Her wreck was discovered in the Philippine Sea in 2015.
This 2013 edition features enhanced detail and accuracy over earlier toolings.
