Thinkwich is a book originally conceived to help seniors experiencing age-related difficulties that may range from memory problems, increased forgetfulness, to mild cognitive impairment. Since publication the book's potential scope of use has been expanded to also include post-stroke recovery, and part use in cases of Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

There are over four hundred questions in specially arranged question lists, designed for a family to use to stimulate deeper thinking and mental activity on the part of an elderly parent. Questions about the senior's past are sandwiched between light general questions, or those involving memory or logic*. Allowing an elderly relative to engage in reminiscence about specific events in days gone by while also actively using the thinking and recall skills needed for daily life.
(*Note: only questions in the book that encourage reminiscence are suitable for use in the case of Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.

All this offering something of a gentle mental workout, to help keep the brain sharper, and better prepared for the challenges ahead.

(** Extract from first question list below. )

Of course, the very act of using the book with the relative concerned also helps in terms of sociability, another key area of mental health; it provides a good opportunity for those involved to engage and interact in a meaningful way.

If thinkwich can make even a small difference in the cognitive health of someone you care about, then we've accomplished our goal. So with that, it's over to you!

*Extract from first question list: (The questions are asked by the family, face-to-face or via a video call/ regular call):

Good Reading
Format: Paperback
The third book we chose to read for our summer reading program was Not That Pet! I am a nanny of a six-year-old girl going into first grade. It’s fun seeing a child’s eyes light up when a book or story engages their imagination. This story was another hit. This was an entertaining read! This is a rhyming read-aloud story that had us both giggling from the beginning of the story to the end. The main character, Mabel, is allowed to pick the family pet. She is determined to find the perfect pet. Her choices had us groaning, ‘oh nooo’ while shaking our heads and laughing out loud. We couldn’t read fast enough to see Mabel’s next choice. Her final decision was unpredictable. We couldn’t believe the final choice was a…. well, you’ll just have to read the story yourself to find out. The illustrations themselves had us smirking. We took the time to really look at the pages and discovered small details that really added to the enjoyment of the story. We read this story several times which is an indicator that this book is a keeper. Enjoy reading Summer 2023! originally posted at long and short reviews

As good As It Get
Format: Kindle
I read the second book in this cottage series about smart town/village life in the Cotswolds before this first one. Both are so very very good and touching. Can't wait to read the third one in this series. These sapphic HEA romances are as good as it gets.

Sweet, Escapist, and Good Characters
Format: Kindle
I enjoyed the setting of this book. I love a book with a good sense of place. The chemistry between the characters was good and built through the story, I thought the book could have benefited from heavier editing. I appreciated the good dialogue, but it seemed unnecessarily copious at times, putting a drag on the forward motion of the story. Worth my time - absolutely.

Bravo!
Format: Kindle
"For two people who love words, we f***ing suck at communication." These words, uttered near the end of the book, really describe the relationship between Josie and Harriett (Harry). They have both built their careers on the crafting of words, but when it comes to them communicating with each other, there are many misunderstandings, foot-in-mouth moments, and missed opportunities to say how they feel. That, along with each one's hesitation to make the first move, causes the sexual tension to build and build, so when they finally do get together... well, you don't want to miss that! The contrast of Josie, the American, and Harry, the Brit, is fun. The story is heart-warming. The banter is enjoyable and doesn't seem like it's just filling space in the book. The supporting characters are colorful and have depth. I really enjoyed it, so I say, "Bravo, TB Markinson! A standing ovation from me!"
