Based on the influential phonetic alphabet of the DuployŽ brothers in France, this manual offers the autodidact a method of stenographic transcription of guaranteed rapidity, efficiency, and utility, wheresoever is demanded the ability to take dictation in both English and French. With good regularity and diligence, the achievability of speeds of up to one hundred and twenty words per minute is assured to the dedicated student. Unlike competing systems, vowels are figured in their proper place, and no needless ambiguity is introduced; while stenograms are not assured to be the briefest possible, little-to-no variable flexion of the pen is required, permitting the use of almost any writing instrument.
