Progressive International is honoured to reissue this poster commissioned by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, P.F.L.P. in 1984, designed by Marc Rudin (1945–2023) to coincide with the Free All Palestinian Prisoners' Day 2026.

The message has become even more pertinent as Israel has proposed the death penalty for Palestinians in a discriminatory bill that does not apply to Jewish citizens of Israel.

Motivated by Palestinian comrades he met in Italy in the late 1970s, Rudin travelled to Lebanon by fishing boat. In Beirut, he worked under the pseudonym Jihad Mansour for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), learned Arabic and developed his understanding of symbols, fonts and forms of Islamic culture.

While working for the PFLP, Rudin designed covers for the PFLP Bulletin, Democratic Palestine and Al-Hadaf, a weekly politics and culture magazine published in Gaza since 1969. During this time, he also designed dozens of posters in solidarity with political prisoners, for Workers’ Day, and honouring international solidarity between Palestine and Czechoslovakia, Japan and Nicaragua.

Having fought with the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, he was forced to flee to Damascus, where the Cuba-Palestine poster was envisioned using scarce resources. The use of single colour print was due to a “constant lack of money,” Rudin had said, giving the example of “the poster representing the Palestinian friendship with Cuba: the Cuban man waving his hat.”

Of the artwork, Rudin continued to explain: “Shutting out the division of labour was perhaps the most fascinating thing: being in control of the whole process of production. The technical result, reached by simple means, always gave me great satisfaction.”

Rudin continued his work in Damascus despite frequent blackouts, preferring to work in the early morning light until 1991, when the situation became increasingly uncertain. He sought refuge in Turkey, where he was arrested at the border. In 1992, Marc was extradited to Denmark, where he was sentenced to eight years in prison for robbery in support of the Palestinian resistance.

From 1997 until 2011, Rudin taught graphic arts in Zurich, inspiring new generations of anti-imperialist activists while continuing his own work. Following a Parkinson's diagnosis in 2012, he died at the Limmat Health Centre in Zurich in April 2023. The re-edition of the poster was granted by those who were close to him to support Progressive International’s solidarity work.

Marc Rudin is a self-described “graphic artist, musician, friend and revolutionary”, stating that his “works stand for international solidarity.” This artwork is available for download, licensed under the Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0, at marcrudin.org, where you can discover more about his life and work.

Longer Lasting than most things I've tried
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 16)
I bought these to go on the PetSafe Bouncy Bone which I had bought for my Australian Shepherd/Vizsla mix puppy who chews everything. We had gone through so many "long-lasting" chew toys/bones that really lasted only about 10 minutes and I was looking for something to occupy his time a little longer. These do the trick. Although they still don't last super long, they take a little more effort and keep him distracted a bit longer than anything else edible that I've tried. To me they are a bit pricey, so I try to make them last by only putting one on at a time, instead of one on each end of the toy. I also tighten the ends pretty tight to make it more difficult for him to get at the entire ring. If you don't mind the price, these are an easy and convenient way to keep your dog busy.

PetSafe Busy Buddy Refill Ring Dog Treats
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 16)
Great! My Baby Pearl Anne loves them. And, she won't normally play with anything else. The Vet says it's due her being in a HORRIBLE Puppy Mill. She never had a puppyhood. She is still Neurotic, even after having been her parent for over 4 years. I would definitely like to get my hands on these people, if I knew who they were. She was found her on a VERY busy intersection way up north in the Texas town where I live. I don't normally go in this neighborhood, so I didn't see her on the street. My best friend, who died just 4 years ago on the 18th of March, had a ex coworker. Leslie(my best friend),KNEW I wanted a dog. I fell in love with her dog: a Miniature Schnauzer. One day Leslie's coworker called her. She said they had found a dog on the street. The coworker said that she couldn't keep anymore dogs. She has 3. So, when they described her, I knew I wanted her! She's a rare pure white Miniature Schnauzer. She was skinny, shaking, with horribly matted hair. She was scared to death, and freezing to death. I put her in a towel, and took her the Vet. And, she said she had worms, was dehydrated, and malnourished. not anymore. She's my baby, my child. Who is now spoiled to death. Sorry this is so long, but, I really needed to tell her story.
