Our EHEIM filter media is highly effective, crafted in our own laboratory using only the finest raw materials, and is consistently tested to ensure it is free from contaminants.
These fine and coarse filter pads are designed for both mechanical and biological filtration. The porous material absorbs water uniformly, capturing dirt particles of all sizes. After a brief startup phase, beneficial bacteria, which play a crucial role in breaking down harmful substances, take residence in the specially structured foam.

The EHEIM MECH is a prefilter material made from hollow ceramic rings, designed to capture larger dirt particles. As water enters the filtration cycle, it swirls through these ceramic rings, allowing bigger debris to settle at the bottom. The prefiltered water then moves on to the subsequent layers of the filter. EHEIM MECH is easy to clean and can be reused.
